I have a 24” 5.0 with 35’s and fox 2.5’s and get anywhere from 16-18 mpg. I have 3.73’s and I really didnt see much of a difference from stock with the 35’s.
Yeah, I don't understand the "eco" part at all. Great engines, but nothing gained in fuel efficiency.

Yeah.
Going to be picking up a 2025 & thinking long & hard between the 5.0 & the 2.7L....
The turbo motors are tempting....
I was a ford engine tech for 32 years.....

They all have there pros & cons...
Yeah, sure the 3.5 is fun to drive with gobs of power I dont need...
Timing cover is easier to remove on the 3.5l compared to the 2.7l...
The 5.0 is the least of the headache & heartburn...
But then they had to use a wet oil bump drive belt....

Didnt realize...
Hard to keep-up with whats what...
Pretty bad coming from a guy who says he's been a ford engine tech for 32 years...
As stated, they havent been problematic but I keep my vehicles forever mostly....
So would imagine that part will need some love at some point at a huge expense, I wont be doing it....

They say now, the 2.7 is probably the best overall engine platform.

Ive had to work on way less 2.7L's than 3.5's.....
There has been very few cam phaser rattle start-up issues on the early 2.7L, but very few....
Removing the timing cover inframe on a 2.7L isnt a fun one...
The upper oil pan has to come-off first if I remember correctly...

But yes, ide take a 2.7L before the 3.5L, even though im sure all the issues have been ironed out on the 3.5L....
I just dont like the fact that even the simple stuff is more complex now with the TC motors,
It is what it is I suppose,

No worries there. Things are changing so fast now its hard to keep pace. I’m a former ASE A1-A8 tech myself.

I looked into it and Ford has been using this wet kevlar reinforced rubber belt in the 2.7 since 2018 (gen 2) and there are a few documented cases where owners that did regular 5000-7500 oil change intervals with synthetic 5W-30W oil had 250,000 plus miles and still had the original belt.. The 5.0 Coyote has been using this belt since 2021 and to my knowledge this wet belt has not been an issue. Same with the Ford Mustang too.

Nice truck we have the same truck . 2025 stx , 2.7 .I took off the 4x4 on the bed , vents are my next step also , just added led bed lights this weekend next is fog lights but hope to make it look factory got all the parts for it , I did the blacked out ford emblems as well as the tinted front signals , 5% ceramic tint all the way around , I have a set of leather seat covers I need to get on . Was thinking about lowering the rear , bit might do a front level as well. I have a pretty cool metal back under seat storage I got off eBay as well , i did the Matt f150 on the tail gate, as well as an m4 back flip , also have an airaid drop on filter , id like to get some smoked tail lights and 3rd brake light down the road , also would like to paint match the tailgate handle and trim around the camera , cant seam to find the right cover panel yet tho ,

I just removed the 4x4 from my truck as well... Ford put the driver side decal on crooked anyway. I went with 15% tint, but regret it. Will probably get them redone with 5%.

Have you got fog lights on yours? I just added the LED bed kit this weekend. I ordered one off Amazon and tied it into my cargo light. It really wasn’t a bad install. I wanted to do it the factory way and add the light switch, but I just couldn’t find any of the right answers that I needed and I wasn’t gonna drop 150 here 200 they’re trying to find the right plug I do have everything we need as far as I know to install the factory style fog lights. I think I’ve got the right harness can get a set of fog lights off eBay and then just replace our headline switch with a different one.

Yes, mine came with fog lights. I have looked around for bed lights. What did you go with?
