Edit: The message says a fault is detected but that is normal operation. Ford needs a better message. Hit reset and enjoy your ProPower.

Heads-up! Every time I have Tested my Pro Power, I have received a ground fault detection and had to reset my system. I stopped by the dealer today to make sure there wasn't an electrical repair backlog so my truck could at least be diagnosed in a day. My rep smiled at me and said I was the lucky one. They already have had another 2024 F-150 PB in for 2 weeks with the same anomaly. They have not been able to find the issue, even after checking and replacing every part Ford told them to do. The dealer then went out on the lot and tested ten 2024 PB. All failed the Test. The rep told me he would call when the issue was resolved and to keep using Pro Power.

You are getting a ground fault every time you test it? If so, isn’t that normal per page 226 of our owners manual? See attachment

Working as designed. The button tests that Propower will indeed shut off if a ground fault is detected. The button creates the fault.

Unsettling that the dealer did not know this is a feature not a bug. RTFM!

My 2k pro power on the superduty
Will trip out
If you press the test toggle
It also faults periodically
On its own ....even when in the 400w normal mode
Big Dog Daddy and I already looked at some areas...that may trap moisture
This is a picture under bed of harness that runs from rear frame up to the plug in bed
It's not very well protected and guess what
When I cracked open the connection, it had moisture in the plug
I cleaned it and dried it
Now I am going to come up with a better environmental protection on the leads.
I think moisture through capillary action entered from back side of connector..it's right in the path of water and crap from rear tire wheel well
Yes this a superduty.....but the way ford shares parts on f150 to superduty
This may be an area to eyeball

I had the same issue from day one on my '24 KR. Then I did a test of all the circuits by plugging in into each outlet, and they were all working fine. Wasn't planning on using PPOB, so just let it go until I would be going in for my 1st oil change. Nice to see this posting so now know it is normal. Perhaps Ford could come up with a better message when pressing the test button, such as "Pro Power Onboard was tested and the system is functioning".

Thank you John and Jim. I can only laugh at myself and the situation. You press the "Test" button and the system response is "a fault was detected". That seems to be counter intuitive. I've done self-tests on avionic and electrical systems all my life. When a system passes a test, a positive indication is issues. If the system doesn't pass the self-test the operator is advised "a fault was detected". gh8, I concur a better message is needed. LOL
