2024 mirror tap for radar detector

Has anyone had success finding the positive and negative wires on the back of y’all’s mirrors? I have searched every forum and none of the combos seem to be working for me.

Not sure who the dumb dumb was who picked the colors but:

Green = ground (-)
Black = power (+)
Black/green = switched (+)

I tried this combo and got no life from the detector. I have a multimeter coming so hopefully I can get this figured out

Blue - Ground
Black - Power

You can also buy the dash cam plug in tap, and a USB-A to RJ11 (if your detector uses RJ11) and do it that way. Both pieces are available on Amazon.

I will tell you that I just ran a wire from the top of the windshield down to the fuse block and hooked it up there for my V1. It was pretty easy to do.

IIRC, this is what worked for me.

Green is definitely Ground.
Not sure if it was red or black for power , and my radar detector turns off when the ignition is off.
I got the Blend Mount with the hard wire kit for the the mirror. I had it professionally installed

These are the standard colors for automotive wiring and has been for years. People expect it to be like house wiring and it is not.

I just wanted to say thank you for this thread. I am moving my Redline 360, M1 camera, and BlendMount (best way to not run afoul of the "no windshield-mounted detectors, cameras, etc." rules) from my old XLT to my new Tremor, and this is a heck of a lot easier than removing the overhead console and tapping the harnesses that power the lights, mic, etc. in the old one.

Thanks for confirming green is ground/- and black is switched power/+ on the mirror plug. I also have a 2025 Platinum Hybrid and bought the Blend mount and Blend power tap from Crutchfield. Worked flawlessly with my Uniden R8.
