Just saw this on YouTube. This is not my truck, and I do not know anything about the incident. What I did notice is that Ford has done a tremendous job with the new wiper motors in these trucks since recall, the wipers still function right up to 14:40 in the video.

It would be interesting to find out what caused it, I'm guessing one out of the 47 modules did not go to sleep. Also I don't know why you wouldn't at least try to pull the hood latch and see if it was still functional before you spent 30 minutes trying to pry it open. I'm sure it was melted, but you could probably still get some tool or pliers on the release. Hope they get to the bottom of this and insurance treats them well, good thing no one was hurt.
