EDIT: Sometime between 2021 and on, F150s have something called an "EIWE" which is the elctronic version of the IWE we all know and love. This post to be removed.
Context:
There is an audible popping sound coming from my Driver-side front-end when turning at very low speeds ( <5 mph). In addition to this, there was a fluttering sound coming from the same location when the vehicle was under load around 3K RPM - very annoying. The other day sitting in my garage, I put my truck in accessory mode and turned 4wd on, I heard a "wush" sound, like air equalizing, not an electronic clicking sound like you'd expect. It came from the Driver-side. Hint?
Took the truck for a drive, popping sound and fluttering sound gone? I thought it was a CV Joint, Tie-rod ball joint, Upper/lower ball joint, spring+UCA collision or steering rack issue. I've eliminated all the above and I'm left with an IWE vacuum leak.
Question:
Where is the IWE check valve on the 2023 5.0 tremor? Pictures and videos online are all of (to my findings) older F150s, usually 13th gen. What I tried: Following the lines from each hub up, to no luck, 2 of the 3 "lines" (not including break lines) lead to electrical systems. Dead end. The other one has a port of some kind, like a top-valve, but it doesn't lead to a vacuum system necessarily (circled in blue). I found this video here which explains how to diagnose a bad IWE diaphragm / vaccum line issue, maybe I'm stupid, but where is the check valve on this truck?
