I have a 23 with 6k miles and the trans acts weird at times. It definitely has the occasional clunking and other complaints I have read about but it also has this weird thing it does when I put it in gear and take my foot off the brake it will stay in park until I hit the gas. It doesn't do it all the time and it feels like it gets hung up? I first noticed it going into reverse but it did it the other day going into drive and I left it like that for a little while and the truck would not move with foot off the brake and trans in drive till I hit the throttle. Is this normal?

I have been considering an aftermarket tune just for the trans shifting, especially with towing. I am also hoping to pick up some mileage with towing. Any recommendations, 5 Star seems popular along with Livernois?

Can you confirm the gear indicator on the dash reads ‘P’ until you hit the gas, then it jumps to ‘D’? Or are you just noticing that when going from Park to Drive, the truck does not move until you give it gas?
By default, you should have the brake auto-hold feature enabled. The icon on the dash is a foot with a drum brake circle surround. This will keep the truck from moving when going from park to drive or reverse, until you hit the gas. It has the same function when coming to a complete stop, holds the truck from creeping forward, as you would normally experience with an automatic transmission.

WHAT HE SAID
sounds like the auto hold is engaged...if you had an OTA update ...many times it can be turned back on without you being aware.
