2022 f150 power tailgate

Hi, I have a 2022 f150 lariat with a power tail gate it opens fine but won’t close I replaced motor and uplift box all new parts does the same thing brought it to dealer he said a bolt sheared off torsion bar I see 1 bolt looks like the other is just missing any ideas he did tell me to buy a whole new tail gate because he can’t get the bar

Is he claiming a current national parts availability / backorder issue for the proper replacement torsion rod? If so, I'd check another dealer and if they say the same have him place a backorder for the item needed and be patient.

Ford certainly makes and sells replacement torsion rods and associated parts for the 2022 electric up/down tailgate, and the installed cost is very, very significantly less than total tailgate replacement.

Attached is the torsion rod replacement procedure just FYI.
