I'm considering installing the Ford Performance leveling kit ( M-18000-F15B ) on my 22 F150 FX4 Max Trailer Tow package so that I can run 295 65/R20 tires. Will I or should I also replace the upper control arms as well or are there any concerns with not changing them? Thanks for any input.

Do you have to replace them? No.
Is it a good idea to? Sure.

I have a 2” in my 21 lariat and control arm is still at an acceptable angle. Ut when the truck is on a lift, the upper control arm with come down and rest on the strut springs. Obviously not a big issue but it certainly situations it could hyper extend the ball joint.

Buddy of mine a 22 XLT with a 2.5” level and his is the same. He is running 35’s with 1/4 wheel spacers and still runs ever so slightly on a full lock turn. Just an FYI.

I was hoping with the lift I wouldn't get any rubbing. There are so many threads on this topic and I thought that I read that the lift would give me the needed room to run the 295 65/R20 on my stock wheels. Is there any particular UCA manufacturer I should avoid that you're aware of?

Honestly I don’t. I wish I could answer that. But if it’s cheap, most likely the product is too. Stick to the big names, rough country, icon, etc. But if it’s JUST a level, you’d be fine with stock UCAs.

I've got about a 4.5" difference between the front and back, I'm assuming the 2.5" lift will give me the needed clearance but that I'll still have some rake after all is completed. Thanks for the input!

No problem! Mine is a 6’5 foot box. I have a 2 inch and still have 1 3/4 rake. Which I don’t mind as I pull a camper.

Friend of mine has the 5’5 bed and he has the 2.5” level and his is almost dead even.

I have Fox 2.5 on front with OEM uca I have Fuel wheels with +1 offset.

I had 295 on these wheels and they rubbed in full lock reverse.

I put OEM size on these wheels and no rubbing with the perfect poke.

You should be fine with 295 if you retain the OEM offset for rubbing. Not sure about OEM uca. If you can afford the better uca I would do it.
I was going to replace mine but just havnt done it yet. But then again mine are doing fine as is.
