2021 XLT camera button not working

Hi everyone,
I recently picked up a 2021 and am happy with it so far but the camera button at the top isn't working to show the backup camera (I do not have the 360 camera package). I've been reading and searching to learn about this vehicle and all the various modules and software. It sounds like the camera button not working is often because of out of date software?

My Sync screen is showing version 23159 revision 915 with no updates available. From reading the other threads it sounds like this may not be the latest? Is there somewhere to look that shows all the available versions?

I have a cable coming for FORscan but I'm not sure that matters for this. Is the best next step to post in the VIN lookup thread to see if modules are outdated, or are there other known ways to fix the camera button?

i don’t think it’s software related. sounds more like an electrical gremlin inside your vehicle.

Thanks for the response. I believe the wiring to the button is working because if I press it while driving the error message about features not being available in motion appears. The camera works when backing up, it's just that the button doesn't do anything otherwise.

I would try this once you get the FORScan adapter. If that doesn't work, then you can dig deeper into the issue.

I recently noticed that my camera button quit working as well. I usually just se it when pulling thru parking stalls to check that my bumper is not hanging over the line. Rathe than taking away someone else’s parking spot, I would rather my nose stuck out a bit. 8’ bed on a SuperCab, something is sticking out somewhere.

Mine does not work either. I used to , but then stopped last year after an update happened. My 4 year old niece used to like watching the car wash on the "TV".

i noticed that now when i turn off the parking sensor alarm, that my camera also turns off. it didn't used to be this way. likely the result of an update. anyone else have the same issue?

I have the same problem on my 21 STX. This happened after a software update like a year and half ago.

Check out TSB 23-2416 it fixed the camera issues on my 2021.
