17 inch wheels and 285 tires

I have a 2020 F-150 I just ordered a 2024 xl. My 2020 has 20 inch wheels, the 2024 will come with 17 inch wheels.

If the 2024 deal doesn't materialize, I want to swap the 2020 down to 17's.
2 questions:
Is the 2020 and 24 the same bolt pattern?
What is the ideal rim width to go with for a 285/70/17 tire?

wife's toyota has OEM 17's. I believe they are a 7.5" wide wheel. 285's look great with just a touch of bulge. cooper at3 xlt's were great in that flavor. (e rated)

Look at the tire specs on the manufacturers website, they typically tell you the allowed rim width range for a given tire size. I have 285 KO2s on the OEM XL aluminum wheels, at 7.5” wide they’re at the minimum width according to BFG. An 8 or 8.5” width is probably more ideal for a 285 tire.
To answer your other question, yes the bolt pattern is the same for those model years

yea any 8-9" will work in the 285 series. most aftermarket are that width anyways.

Thanks all for the input. I will probably get some 8.5x17's from custom offsets.
TPMS freq is different between 2020 and 2024. If I get a vin for the 2024, I'll sell the 2020
If not, I'll just keep my 2020. 50,000 miles and paid for!
