120 v outlet problem

we have 2021 150 Lariat my wife needs to work sometimes while we're traveling...the front and rear 120 v power outlets starts working when I first start up the truck...but then stops working after a short while...does anyone else have this problem?

What kind of loads are you putting on the system? Do you have a PB?

my wife is just using her laptop...and excuse my ignorance...no PB its a 8 cylinder...we have 1 ac power outlet in the front on the dash and 1 on the rear dash

They are only rated a 400 watts output. Look at her charger and multiply the volts times amps for the power side. Has to be less than 400. Volts x amps = watts. If it works for a short period,I suspect it overheats with load.

Yeah, likely this is the problem. Smaller laptop chargers run maybe 130-150 watts, the bigger chargers can run 420+ watts (but this is at max output...)

120v x 3.5A = 420watts

You could get a smaller charger and tell your wife to dim her display, and only run programs she absolutely must while traveling...A smaller charger may not be able to maintain power, but would certainly extend the useful life of the laptop battery.

It could also be a sign her laptop battery is dying...if you start with a fully charged battery the laptop should not be consuming 420watts, unless you have some super computer, which then I would think it would get too hot to have on your lap...either way there is likely a solution to your problem, its unlikely it anything to do with the truck though...
