When there is a model year or Job change, batches of trucks are ran and then held in a holding lot. They are gone over thoroughly to check for quality issues. Then they are released. Sometimes it can take days, like with the minor changes taking place between 2021 and 2022 model years. Sometimes it can take weeks or longer, like with the 2021 or 2015 launch.

Rinse and repeat until OKTB is achieved. Nothing is shipped until that goal is reached.
Is this why they stagger the Job #1 dates at the plants, so they can work through any kinks to then apply to the next plant when it switches over, instead of starting them both at the same time? Or is that completely unrelated? Just curious if you know.

Yeah, it did. I have both activate vehicle, and modules populated.

No, the Ford tracker has never worked for me. Not even when it was still up the first time 2 months ago. It always says my VIN can't be tracked in the system or that it's invalid. The only was I was able to track my order was the Mach-E one, but now that's gone, so I'm in the dark on my end.

@TurboToaster was able to check and saw my VIN in the rail system, so it's not a huge deal as long as I can see it's shipped out eventually via other methods. Was just confused why I wouldn't receive the latest email like everyone else. Might just be delayed system funky-ness. Maybe I'll get it tomorrow or something.
That is odd, but so is everything else it seems about how consistently Ford does - or does not - communicate with their customers. It will be interesting to see how the ship our trucks, although yours is KC and mine is MI....

It's not, I'm a DRB too! Our trucks could be buddies waiting in the same holding area together.

As of about 10 minutes ago the Ford tracker has quit loading for me. The last time i did get it to load it showed that my truck was back in the "Built" status and awaiting shipment. Now when i enter the order number and VIN it just doesn't do anything when i press Accept and Track button. No errors or anything and no progress bar like it's trying to load the page it's just dead on both my laptop and iphone browser. Hopefully this is indication that Ford is getting close to or in the process of pushing out updates to switch website over to include MY 2022 trucks. We shall see maybe in the morning!

Hope you’re right....I’ve basically given up on the trackers....haven’t worked for me in a few weeks now. If it wasn’t for the “activate vehicle “ button, the modules being populated and the email from Ford, I would have major questions. Since all those things have shown up in the last 36 hours, I’ve decided the trackers are truly worthless.

Yeah, hopefully this is a planned outage. Mine is also not working right now, and there were also people, like me, who got the "built" email and status update this morning and then saw it go back to "in production" later in the day. All kinds of weird stuff seems to be going on with their tracker!

Does this suggest that being in Batch & Hold you are getting a more thoroughly checked over truck than a later build date?
For the most part. But a later built truck might have had tweaks done to the assembly process that was done because of issues going during Batch and Hold. And there are always units that are selected for a road test and audits.

Nope. That's exactly why they stagger launches.

How is @TurboToaster able to see VINs in the rail system? Would love to know if mine is in motion or not.

I checked my VIN on United Road delivery just now - it returned my dealer correctly as destination. It doesn't mean it was delivered today does it? Is it confirmation that they will be the carrier? Sorry just don't know much about the United Road tracking app..
Just means they have an Order to deliver your truck. Send me your VIN in PM and I'll look at it.

It now looks like the tracker is making "progress". It now says "This vehicle is not yet available in order tracking at this time, please check back later."
Before it would not even recognize I hit the button.

So far no rail movement yet for any of the Dearborn builds that I've checked, but I got an email from Ford this morning stating my truck has shipped. Still can't access the tracker (now just shows "Session expired") and no Activate button in FordPass.
