Congrats on the truck and 10 minute in and out! I was at the dealer for about 3 hours as I refused to pay msrp, sales manager even got angry and stormed out.
Care to touch on this? Did you guys not have an agreed upon price before hand? My truck I believe is finally at the dealer and I do have an agreed upon price and them confirming by email but I just sense some sneaky business is going to happen when I show up.

Super strange -- your build is very similar to mine, same plant too and you ordered yours before me by a month and somehow mine arrived before yours? That just doesn't jive.
I just got back from a visit with my dealer. They are able to confirm that my truck is still sitting in a lot in Kansas City waiting to be loaded on a truck for delivery! VVR says "update pending", Ford Performance said on Monday that shipping was pending, and the United Road Website says the order was confirmed with them on 9-30-21.

So here I sit!

No problem. No, 5 months ago I walked in to the dealership (as an uninformed buyer as most of us are) and showed them what model and options I wanted and they ordered the truck. The following week I got the VIN and the journey started from there. It took about 5 months to get the truck and within that time I did LOTS of research.

I found (on this forum) 2021 F-150 invoice values for the base vehicle and just about every option you can add. So, one late night, I calculated the invoice price of my truck using that info and knew the delta between invoice and MSRP. I also came across a few posts regarding three types of assistance the dealer gets for new vehicles they order from the factory. The reason that is important is the way the majority of us are buying these vehicles. The three types of assistance the dealer receives from the factory are: Holdback (HBA), Floorplan (FPA), and Ad (AA) assistance. I won't define what each of those are as a quick Google search will give you way better info than I am able to regurgitate BUT the reason I found this so important was that the dealer has a buyer (you) who has ordered a vehicle and has been anxiously waiting for it to arrive -- meaning, as soon as it arrives, ~1 or 2 days later you're buying it so the dealer now pockets most if not ALL of that assistance since the vehicle won't be sitting on the lot.

So, holdback you can calculate as there's a formula for it (if I remember correctly it's 3% of MSPR - delivery) however, FPA and AA are calculated some other way and only the dealer will know those values which are listed on the bottom of the invoice. Now, I knew all of this when I went to pick up my truck (I created a spreadsheet with all this and invoice/msrp info in it which I could adjust on the fly if needed, so I asked my dealer for the invoice to validate my numbers - they finally agreed to show me and I plugged in the missing values for FPA and AA....that number ended up totaling $2700!

So, for my vehicle, the dealer would get $2700 from factory assistance and if I payed MSRP the dealer would get an additional $4,064 which totals to $6800!! So that's why I refused to pay MSRP and asked the dealer to split that in half...you keep half and I save half which I felt was a very fair offer as I wasn't looking to screw them but also didn't want to be screwed. They flipped their lid, I stayed very calm and let them throw a tantrum, waited it out and then made that deal.

Hopefully that helps. I suggest reading up on FPA, HBA, AA and invoice pricing. AND I didn't even include what volume bonuses they get for selling vehicles but that's a black hole and shouldn't be added to the negotiation equation IMO.

My shipment date as I type this post says 10/26 however, the truck was delivered on 10/22. See below. Tracking is all over the place for most of the folks trying to figure out the status of their trucks. It really sinks.

There must be a backlog of vehicles that the railway can't handle is my only thoughts. Im sure there are others who know more than me.

My truck sitting 3 weeks waiting for shipment at KCAP too. My status still in production though.

This afternoon my truck was delivered to the dealership! 25 weeks and 2 days from order date. All the trackers show still in shipping process. Dealer, Ford Performance, and even United Road website all said truck was still sitting in KC waiting for a truck!

Dealership was closed already and I will be taking our daughter on a couple college tours on Monday, so I will need to wait till Tuesday to drop off the level kit and and the new Falken Wildpeaks installed.

Curious how you found out your truck was delivered to dealership.

Your sales person contacted you?

Since Ford gave me the ETA of 10-20 to 10-26, I have been driving through the lot before and after work each day and also a couple times on Saturdays and Sundays. I live about a mile from the dealership.

After talking with my dealer on Friday, we both came to the agreement that it was still in KC waiting for a truck. All communications said as much.

So Saturday evening on my way to pick up dinner for the wife and I, I thought what the heck and took a little detour to take a peak. Wasn't expecting it to be there and made a mad right turn (probably on two wheels in the wife's Expedition) at the last second into the lot when I caught a glimpse of something looking remotely like what I ordered and low and behold, there she was!

Well I can finally post now that I have one!!! Powerboost King Ranch 6.5’

This is my first real F150!! I had an old beater in college back when gas was $0.97 a gallon. That doesn’t really count.

I love it. And can’t recommend the team Chapman Ford enough!! I am not sure what I will do to customize other than level kit and probably a little larger KO2. No real plans yet. Just happy to have it after 6 month wait.

Getting close.

Got info from Ford Performance this morning. As of yesterday, the rail it was on was one state away. Hoping it will be at my dealer this week.

Signed for and picked it up from the dealer today! Exactly 25 weeks from order placement! Had them install a MotoFab 2" level and swap out the stock Goodyear Territory AT's with a set of 275/65-18 Falken Wildpeak AT3/W's. I was able to test drive with both tires and without the level. No noticeable difference for me at all! Rake prior to level was 4 1/8" after 1 7/8", right where I want it! Now to install the Ford rear wheel well liners, Ford splash guards, and Access Lorado tonneau cover! All set now! The wait is worth it guys!
