We need others to chime in, but I think your theory holds! My truck is at the Dearborn plant. I could see the ETA email meaning its actually close to being picked up or actually has been picked up (considering its the first time getting it), vs the Ford chat providing estimates (new ones almost every day). When I asked Granger before, I didn't get the full report like you show, just the ETA row when I would ask for the VRR.

Now with that being said, I know others have said they DO get the ETA emails from Ford and are constantly changing. So who knows.

Email is delivery. They can be different emails and change status but they indicate an ETA for delivery. I have checked on my status, specifically my ETA details and they have changed ten times. Ford has sent me three emails is all after they notified me it shipped from Dearborn. But I believe the shipped ETA email from Ford specifically speaks to your delivery status... mine looks like this:

10/28 ---- Your new 2023 F-150 RAPTOR™ SuperCrew has shipped and is on its way!

Our current estimate for delivery to *************** is between November 16, 2022 and November 22, 2022.

or this,

11/29 ------- To ensure your complete satisfaction, we will require additional time before your 2023 F-150 RAPTOR™ is delivered to ************** Your vehicle’s previous estimated delivery range of November 16, 2022, and November 22, 2022, has been updated to between November 28, 2022, and December 4, 2022.

or this,

12/13 ------ To ensure your complete satisfaction, we will require additional time before your 2023 F-150 RAPTOR™ is delivered to ************** Your vehicle’s previous estimated delivery range of November 28, 2022, and December 4, 2022, has been updated to between December 27, 2022, and January 2, 2023.

Now why is Ford taking responsibility of attempting to accurately notify me of when my truck will be delivered if its has left the plant. If its a shipping delay would the railyard or shipping company go to Ford first and say you might better change the ETA as we are way behind. I don't think so... its all a front to buy time. But Ford can't tell you exactly why... yet I believe they know and control when it can be released to dealer.

found out this morning from Canadian National Railway that the rail car my truck is in...Has to be repaired. It's going to be sent back to Flatrock MI and will take a week to repair. Then who knows how long before it can get back on a train that was headed my way.

Also, how did you find out? Mine is a Union Pacific car but they said it’s ok Canadian National apparently, or vise versa

did not say what needed to be repaired on the rail car. I called the CN customer service line and said I wanted to know the status of the rail car that I had a truck on. They told me the news.

Just talked to dealer, my ETA pushed back another week….today is 16 days in the end-railyard and 2hr away from dealer.

Just talked to Savannah at Granger who's been very helpful. She gave me a new shipping est of 12/12 - 12/18. Fingers crossed!

Drove to dealer today to have him look at my trade-in. Tells me truck arrived to local rail yard this morning! Carrier says 12-20 to dealer. Dealer to do spray in liner so figure pickup 12-27.

Is the spray in bed liner through ford?

My spray in bedliner was $599 and through some company the dealership had a relationship...not directly from Ford.

8/1 Ford confirmed order
9/15 Build week 10/17
10/11 Build week moved to 10/24
11/3 Ford delay email on 10/24 build
11/4 Built; delivery 11/17-23
11/29 Delivery moved to 12/11-17
12/8 Shipped; delivery 12/11-17
12/13 Delivery moved to 12/26-1/1

Per VinView truck is actually in Mesquite, TX (2hr from dealer)
Dealer says waiting on delivery truck which usually carries 2-4 trucks at a time; usual wait 2days to 2weeks (sometimes a month)
In today's systems, it is frustrating that build and delivery cannot be better anticipated and tracked.
So I may or may not have a truck for Christmas. New Years?

I'm in Pearland, South of Houston per VinView. Currently on the 8th ETA, and dealer said there was no way it would go past 12/12.

We're at 16 days at the final railyard awaiting delivery to dealer, 2hr away like yours. Dealer talked to regional rep and he pretty much just said "sorry, we have more vehicles than convoy room". Nearing a month from first shipped date.
