I wonder how the chip installs go…

Say they get 1200 chip sets a day for whatever part is holding us up. Do they decide that 800 trucks off the line get them to decrease backload, and the other 400 split between the first trucks on the lot? Or do they split it 50/50?

We know they don’t prioritize by wait date because they have some 2023 trucks already getting shipped with the same build as older trucks on hold. Did every truck with bird shit on the passenger front fender get it?

I don’t get how it works

I read an article yesterday about how orders are prioritized. Something about how many of a given model the dealer sells and all sorts of complicated formulas also taking into account what phase the moon is in in relation to the position of uranus in the night sky on the last full moon and the price of gas or something like that

Being a Canadian order I get even less info than most of you. The only thing I have is ordertrack.app. I've had the same 'Awaiting Shipment' status now for 9 days.

• Does this correlate to a 'Built' status?
• My row count in the modules page has held steady at 1045. Are others with the same status seeing module counts change?
• From reading the comments it seems that 'Built' doesn't really mean Finished, (ie. could be on chip hold still). Is that what's going on?

Nope. Mine has been built since 10/31 but still no micro…hasn’t shipped yet.

Yeah awaiting shipment means it’s been built. I haven’t seen anyone be placed on chip hold after getting awaiting shipment status.

Yes was built on 10/27 and is now on chip hold. Says "micro chip at plant on hold"

Did they say ETA 11/25 to dealer or for the chip hold to be released? They told me 11/28 ETA to release the chip hold

I was thinking they were saying eta 11/25 to dealer. Wonder why some on hold and others shipped.

To be fair, the dates are just to appease us and hold no true deadline.

I don’t know about that. We have been discussing how they select which trucks make it through

Has anyone gotten insights as to what would be holding us in awaiting shipment limbo? The only thing I can think of is the potential rail strike

Chatted with Ford chat. Last update on file was Oct 31 (date built) with awaiting shipment with a early December ETA. No other updates on record.

Same here. I have an estimated dealer arrival time of 11/8-11/14 per Ford chat. I highly doubt that given it hasn't started the journey yet.

I also asked about being on "chip hold" which my dealer advised me back on the 1st even though I was marked as "built" and Ford chat advised "The hold must have fell off as I do not show a micro chip hold for this order"

Yesterday I asked Ford chat my status and asked her if I was on chip hold. She said I was NOT on chip hold just waiting on a railcar. ETA to dealer in a week or so. Built 10/31.
It's nice that chat reminds every time I can view my progress on Ford tracking.
