06/6/22 Build Week Group

Happy for you all that have received your trucks! Congrats. Recall I was in the second half of the June 6th week and got put temporarily into chip hold for about 2 weeks. XLT, SCREW, EB, 302A, 360, max tow. Final build and release was around June 20th. My truck shipped by rail shortly afterwards. All good news right. Well it has been in the rail yard 2hrs away from me awaiting final delivery by truck since July 5th. I am sure with components rusting away. Dealer has been been very apologetic (and embarrassed) and has tried to elevate the issue. Only good news is I have a buddy that ordered (XLT, EB, 301a) from the same dealer and his truck has been sitting in the same yard since mid June. His Ford pass app accidentally got activated before delivery so he can actually see the exact location on the map in the app (dealer said that shouldn't have happened). We have a bet who gets their truck first.

Having waited for my own truck,, though not as frustrating an experience as yours, I feel for you and your friend..
All I can say is, you will be really happy with the truck.. It's every bit of what others have said and more!

You don't have to pull the mirrors off. There are 3 tabs along the top edge. Just point the mirror all the way down and you can get to them pretty easily with a long common screwdriver. Then work the top edge of the cap off. There is a clip at the bottom middle of the cap that is just going to break as you pull it off...even the boost auto video didn't show a way to release that clip. It breaks pretty easily and doesnt damage the rest of the housing or the cap. Then just pop the new cap on and you're good to go. Less than 10 minutes total for both sides.

Unexpected surprise! Talked to ford chat who told me it was in SC (I’m in NC) and that the delivery date was aug 4th. I got the alert that my activation in ford pass had been declined last night. This morning I got the call it was in and ready! Picked it up within an hour of the call. 3 1/2 months from order to delivery.
Lariat 502a, powerboost, SAP, FX4, unleashed, 360 camera, built in nav/360 Sirius, twin panel moon roof, active assist, and most importantly, the beer bottle opener on the tailgaie ?

No shit, Ford... I kinda guessed since it's ten days past the previous delivery date. Useless fools running the logistics side of this company. Good thing it's all to ensure my complete satisfaction ?

I ordered the caps from the Ebay seller bfntruckshop. They were OEM parts that were already painted Carbonized Grey to match and cost me $260. I think you can get it cheaper by buying the parts and having them painted or wrapped, but these were pre-done and in my hands within a week.

I've posted pics before, but here is one that shows the mirrors pretty well:

Just checking in folks! I know I don't post a ton in here but I have taken delivery of the truck after a 6 month wait! Now it's back at the dealership though for some upfittings lol. I will post pics once it's finished. I can say to all those still waiting it is certainly worth it. Damn is this truck a beauty.

Getting so close......
Union Pacific trace phone number says railcar should arrive tomorrow night (29th) @ 8:28 pm. I hope it gets to the dealer quickly from there. But, you never know. Definately not looking like they'll make the 7/24-7/30 delivery window.

It's all a race against the calendar at this point. The truck already has a tentative appointment for a topper install next friday (5th) I ordered the topper when truck was "built", and it came in came in this week (ARE beat FORD). I need to install the Bedrug and BulletProofDiesel 3rd brake light antenna mount quickly before the topper get's put on. Hope I can keep that appointment, but who knows. We are leaving for our next camping trip the following wednesday (10th). I hope the new truck is pulling the trailer, not the old one! The dogs hope they have a topper installed for the trip, too! Bonus points if I can get the windows tinted before we leave.

If the stars all align, the first trip with virtually no break in miles will be up Monarch Pass headed to Crested Butte! That's the roughest pull of all the campsites we go to each year.

It's close enough that the dealer has put together all the paperwork. (that's got to be a good sign, right?) I was trying to see if I could get them to lock something in yesterday before the rate hike, then they finaly did the Ford System lookup of my offers and I was locked in to great special rates from Ford! That was a great surprise. 0%, 0.9% or 1.9% (36 mo, 48mo, 60mo) From my January 19 order date. And they are giving me what I think is a reasonable value on my '13 trade. If the new truck would just finish it's journey, we'd be all set!

Even though you guys all had to wait longer you still might have your trucks before me! Up to a week in the shop and counting, they think the turbo went bad...after 2 weeks and 1000 miles. Who knows when I get mine. What a tease!

That really sucks.. How did the issue start? Do they have an estimate on when it will be ready?

I was just driving down the road and boom service engine soon light, reduced power light, and went into limp mode. They have no idea how long, but just as i typed this they must have started the truck because i just got 7 (!) service engine warnings and an engine overheating warning and a cabin wiring fault warning, so either they're taking a bunch of crap apart to work on it or it's really screwed...maybe having the app with instant updates is a bad thing!

While I took delivery of the truck on Friday, July 22nd, I completed the paperwork and paid for it only today - because they didn't have the right person available to complete the transaction under my company name...While I was at the dealership, I let them know that the tailgate Ford badge was in blue, instead of the black for the BAP package and that my mirror caps were chrome. The service manager happened to be there and he said they would get both the badge as well as the mirror caps replaced! A service advisor placed the order right away and requested me to come back early next week!
That was a pleasant and welcome surprise!!!

Hopefully just a bad part and I'll get it back today! I wasn't looking forward to having it sit in the shop longer than I had owned it!

On the plus side, I picked it up and drove home fine. On the downside, and you might have to zoom, this is what they returned to me. And it’s caked on there, still not off after 2 car washes.
