Does that old method people were doing of "hacking" the online tracking still work? Anyone know how to do it now?

I got my car number from the dealer thismoring. CN TTGX694456

I used the CSX 1-800# and it told me my shipment was delivered 6/22 in Buffalo, NY. Obviously not the shipment I'm looking for since it "shipped" (or got loaded and is just sitting there Fri/Sat last week) and is hopefully coming to Colorado. I'm sure there's some delay for new shipments getting into the system.

Surprisingly, the Ford email was still estimating 7/24 to 7/30 for delivery. That's what they were saying right after it was "Built". I find that one a little hard to believe since there was a 2 week delay in shipping it. But, if that is the case, it should be here just in time for our next camping trip and the roughest of the passes we tow the camper over each year. Monarch Pass will be quite the first test for the new truck if it's here in time. (with not much time to break it in first!)
you will have to figure out which rail company picks up from Buffalo, NY for the next leg to CO....

Mine was also picked up by CN from MI to Salem, IL... Then from there Union Pacific brought it to TX... So I started calling UP and got the updates... Last update was - the rail car had left Kirby TX and gone elsewhere...Kirby is where the truck was supposed to be unloaded... I am assuming the truck has been unloaded and waiting to make the 90 mile trip to the dealer on a semi...

VVS is something the dealer has access to correct? My dealer is helpful when I reach out, but they definitely aren't proactive about keeping me posted on the truck status. I just go off the tracker, Ford Emails, and Ford Chat.
Yes, the dealer has access to VVS... My dealer isn't pro-active either... Each time I call, they text me the screen shot from VVS... What I have found is that the VVS is only good for the rail car number and then it hasn't updated since.. That is when I started calling the various rail companies to get the updates on where the truck is... Currently, mine appears to be unloaded at UP autorack yard about 90 miles from my dealer and is waiting to be picked by a semi truck...

The whole logistics has been a fascinating experience...

Agree. Definitely interesting for sure. That said mine was unloaded from the rail car 8 days ago in Columbia SC and it still hasn’t been received by my dealer. No clue what’s going on but very frustrating to say the least!

Price protection technicality question for you guys that have finalized your purhases.

So, we're a couple weeks out from expected delivery, and the salesman is starting to work up the paperwork for the final sale. He understands there is price protection (Which is great not to have to deal with that hurdle), but is saying that the price that is protected is the "Base MSRP" not the total MSRP. He's checking into it, but the difference between Base MSRP + Options is about $715 higher than our agreed upon price (Signed document). Not the end of the world, but obviously not what I agreed to. Basicly, I would be seeing the price increases on the $20K of options above the base Lariat MSRP.

I wouldn't post the figures, but eveyone can see my sticker from the database anyway, so....
Base MSRP was 53,890 (Deal) is now 56,825 (Sticker) = 2,935 difference.
Total MSRP was 73,190 (Deal) is now 76,840 (Sticker)= 3,650 difference
According to his understanding, total MSRP would go from 73,190 (Deal) agreed to 73,905 (Final Sale)
Then I do still get -3000 dealer discount I had and -1000 if I finanace through ford
In the scheme of things, $715 (1% difference) is not the end of the world, but is frustrating.

I told him clearly where my expectation is, and he's going to look into it. It's not a fight at this point, but want to know what the real protection should be.

What is the final price when picking up your truck? Is the full MSRP or Base MSRP protected for you?

Thanks!

This is interesting and very timely information you are sharing.. My dealer is preparing the paperwork.. Hasn't sent it to me yet.. He said the price is from the time we placed the order..
I will reach out to them to get the paperwork.. I will share what I find out.. Just don't know when I will get it from the dealer..

Found it in the Union Pacific trace system. Says it was loaded in (or maybe the train left) Dearborn Yesterday @ 2:09 am. Looks like it was in Chicago this morning @ 6:11 am.

That means it is actually in motion to me! Hard to believe after all this time.

Definately!

All said, I'll be just over 6 months into this "journey?" which is pretty sad, but is considerably better than some people have seen. I'm pretty happy that it's almost over, and I actually have every thing I ordered on my truck!

Hope you see yours soon.

Still hasn't shipped according to the tracker. But I got this notification so I presume my truck has at least been started and moved. Hopefully just not as a commuter for the module installers.

I figured I would share this with you all ....
I am a home builder and on July 13th, I ordered 2 bath tubs for one of my projects.. Received one of them the very next day, on the 14th because it shipped from TX. The other one shipped from GA and is due today and I have been able to track its progress daily..Today it is out for delivery and it says mine is stop #5 of the day!

This level of detail and service for a tub that costs $650!!!!

On our 80k trucks, we get NO information whatsoever!!!

The tub location was updated every single day on exactly where it was including the delivery date...
Ford VVS has no updates since the truck got into shipping...

The company that sells the tubs and the trucking company handle at least 10 times the volume Ford has to move and still are able to give such detailed information every step of the way!!!

Honestly, getting the specifics on exactly where the truck is would be amazing, but I would settle for accurate delivery estimates. I was originally quoted 6/20 - 6/26 delivery date from Ford. When that passed, ford chat told me on 7/3 or before. When that passed, my dealer told me 7/5.

Then I get an email from Ford stating delivery is now between 7/15 and 7/21. I really do want to get my hopes up and believe I will be driving my new truck this week, 7 Months after ordering. But I have no faith left in Ford.

I feel your pain.
My January order/June built truck has had delivery re-sched for Aug 3. Nearly 2 months after completion. Like you, I feel no hope. And get zero info from Ford. It my be an out of their control industry-wide logistical nightmare, but communication to their customer is well within their control, yet they do nothing. At this they are failing miserably.
