Ford Ramp 58 in Melvindale is the railyard outside the Dearborn truck plant servicing Norfolk Southern. Once you get your railcar number from the dealer (it will be indicated on your VVR), you can track the railcar movement on the NS toll-free automated phone line. The phone info is quite a few posts back in the history of this thread. I'll check my speed-dial - I was only checking it a gazillion times a day!
Thanks Ralph, that's what I figured after looking on a map and seeing a rail yard. I was hoping my truck would just get trucked to St Louis, since it's only about 8 hours, but at least it is on it's way. And thank you for all the work you do with the spreadsheet. Hope you are enjoying your truck!!

If that's the case, seems like it should be a very short (1-2 day) train ride. The longest part might be the convoy from the local railyard there to the dealer.

My truck has been in for service since last Monday for Reverse Brake Assist Malfunction alarm and dash message along with a couple other querky things like the powered driver side tow mirror not unfolding all the way and the truck needing "massive" module updates. On Friday they told me they couldn't successfully do the updates which they attributed to their internet connections, but not an issue with the truck. This morning they tell me a module needs replacing. Fortunately they have it in stock and it's under warranty because they said the cost of the module is $5K! I'll post the details when I hopefully pick it up tonight.

Hopefully that will be the end of your issues!

Mine was intermittent, but was recently doing it a lot more than not. Typically, I'd power them in and then back out. However, even then it evenually stopped opening all the way many times.

They installed the module today - it's the one controlling the remote sensors, cameras, and as the service advisor described in technical terms, "a bunch of stuff." They're still having downloading issues and are blaming it on Ford's servers not being able to handle all the dealer download requests. I could tell they were having issues - I received 10 fault notices through FordPass. Nine of them were labeled "Blind Spot Detection With Cross Traffic" and the details on the first one were "The side obstacle detection control module found a communication problem with the body control module" and I should "Have your vehicle checked by an authorized dealer."

The second one says "The side obstacle detection control module found a communication problem with the instrument panel cluster control module."

The third one says "The side obstacle detection control module found a communication problem with the restraints control module."

The fourth one says "The side obstacle detection control module found a communication problem with the anti-lock brake system control module."

The fifth one says "The side obstacle detection control module has a configuration problem."

The sixth one says "The side obstacle detection control module has received invalid data from the transmission control module."

The seventh one says "The side obstacle detection control module has received invalid data from engine control module/powertrain control module"

The eighth one says "The side obstacle detection control module found a communication problem with the transmission control module."

The nineth one says "The side obstacle detection control module found a communication problem with the engine control module/powertrain control module."

The 10th warning on FordPass is "Pre-Collision Assist is not Available" and the details are "The Collision Warning system has detected either a system fault or an obstructed radar sensor."

Whew - guess the service advisor was right that "a bunch of other stuff" is affected! And to think things were working relatively well before I took it in for the Rear Brake Assist Malfunction.

I'm going to post these details in another thread dealing with module updates and related items. Sorry for the length of this post, but I figured the details might be interesting to those suffering similar or related issues.

At least it's something to look forward to! Better to have a truck that needs some service than not having a truck at all. Is Ford having the same issues with their other cars (like the Bronco)? Are Chevy and Toyota having these same problems with their trucks/cars?

Very true, AJ! I'm still amazed I actually took delivery when I did a bit over a month ago. The exact same configured King Ranch I ordered from another dealer had a blend date the day before this one and it's still sitting "In Production" no doubt still on chip hold. Defies logic!

Can it be true?!
Other folks swear by this tracking site, but I didn't find it to be very accurate. It still showed my truck as pending delivery to the dealer AFTER I took delivery.

You're hurting my heart, Ralph. From here on out, I need everyone to lie to me so that I can maintain hope.

Never mind, I found it.

It says my truck is "In Transit". I got the dreaded email from Ford last night pushing my delivery date from June 6-11 to July 26-Aug. 1. Who knows when it will get here!
