Hey all, looking for some help here. I have ‘21 F150 with the rain sensing wipers and they don’t seem to be working right. I have the option turned on from the menu and when I turn the wiper knob, they just run like they normally would without the rain sensing option. I called Ford tech support and they suggested taking it into the dealer. The dealer said that’s how they should operate but I’m not buying that. I had a ‘14 with this option and I would leave it on all the time and they would only run when…they detected moisture. How should these operate and is anyone else running into this issue?

There's another thread here and pretty much everyone found the camera/sensor want mounted properly so it wasn't looking out the windshield. I think it's up by the rearview mirror.

Thanks! I should have searched a little harder.

For anyone else looking for this same problem, below was MYF150FX4 fix. I pulled to cover off and the sensor was not snapped in properly. The wipers now seem to operate properly. We'll see how they do when it rains...

UPDATE: While outside of the truck and standing at the hood looking at the windshield and the cameras, I noticed that the rain sensing wiper sensor had a weird shadow. On a hunch, I took off the plastic camera cover by the mirror (inside the cab) and it was immediately clear what my issue was - the rain sensor has 2 clasps that snap it into place when installed, but only 1 clasp was secure and the other was not, leaving the camera hanging incorrectly and not looking out the window. I snapped the other clasp and now it works as desired. Solved!

Below are a few photos of the sensor where it was not properly snapped into place.

How did you get the cover off? I'm having the same issue and shadow from the front but I feel like I will break the cover.

I just used my fingers to pry it off. Try to work the edges a little loose on all sides and use a little force to remove it. One side popped out a little easier than the other.

Hi there. Can you send us a DM with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into this on my end.

My Rain Sensing option was not working either... Just shrugged it off for the past year as I didn't want to leave my truck at the dealership for 3-4 days to fix it. Love this forum... Popped off the plastic cover, and as sure as shinola one of the metal clips was not attached. Snapped it back into place and will test it out during the next rain shower.

I just noticed this today. It was a torrential downpour and no wipers. I'll give this fix a check tomorrow and report back. I have '22 lariat pb

I was really hoping this was my issue in my '22, but no luck. Guess it's time to go to the dealer! LOL
