  1. Testing the Kicker Key, 7 Speaker XLT

That is already significantly better than stock, for sure. If you are bored, see if EQ#1 helps at all for you. I am still sort of back and forth on which sounds better. Your post makes me very excited to get the new speakers.
  2. Testing the Kicker Key, 7 Speaker XLT

What should I be using instead? The instructions say bi-amp use is the least common. If there is another DSP amp in this range, I would love to buy that instead. I just want to do this once and do it with the best bang for the buck.
  3. Testing the Kicker Key, 7 Speaker XLT

Hoping I can get even remotely close to that! That seems insanely perfect, I did not think it could get that good in a car/truck.
  4. Testing the Kicker Key, 7 Speaker XLT

Okay, sorry for the spam posting. It honestly looks like these speakers are missing (bad at) 170 to 350 hz. the rest can be tuned in. Well that and the lower lows but the hs10 fills those in perfectly.
  5. Testing the Kicker Key, 7 Speaker XLT

Page 9 shows the diagram and page 12 explains it. I am using 4 channel mode as expected (front and rear left and right). Bi- amp is only if you are just trying to power components with no crossovers (front door and pillar).
  6. Testing the Kicker Key, 7 Speaker XLT

So here is eq1 vs flat with the key off. Blue is flat Green is EQ1.
  7. Testing the Kicker Key, 7 Speaker XLT

I need to correct the first post, my EQ was set to one, I just changed it to flat. Am I not reading the manual correctly, page 9? Standard full range wiring is all 4 channels front and back? Bi amp is shown as tweeters and woofers, as in doors and pillars and not what this is really designed...
  8. Testing the Kicker Key, 7 Speaker XLT

My google-fu is not working so well for "Extended Range AC Speaker" Should this be enabled now that there is an amp involved? Dang, so many tests to run. I better hook up a battery charger.
  9. Testing the Kicker Key, 7 Speaker XLT

I ended up getting these three, https://amzn.to/3ZzHVxH phantom power, cable https://amzn.to/3OASgTZ, mic https://amzn.to/4ifOvRt. Not sure if that mic is available in a USB only, that would make things easier for sure. From there I Bluetooth into the headunit for the signal for testing. I...
  10. Testing the Kicker Key, 7 Speaker XLT

Okay so I was not imagining things. 1 did seem much better to me. I guess that is another thing I need to test today. Thanks!!! Shoot I really hope I am happy with the key, I really do not want this rabbit hole to keep getting more expensive.
  11. Testing the Kicker Key, 7 Speaker XLT

I think these are what I will be going with if any of you have any input. Front, 6x9", separates so I can wire the tweeters into the pillar, 105W RMS. I could find nothing else in the lower power range that was separate and seemed to fit...
  12. Testing the Kicker Key, 7 Speaker XLT

I am sure they will. I just love being able to quantify how much. Especially in the audio industry, there is a lot of overhyping and snake oil. So I just needed to prove it to myself for peace of mind, and in doing, so I hope to help others to know they are not wasting money. I hope to have a...
  13. Testing the Kicker Key, 7 Speaker XLT

Hey, I would not mind a rolling boom box to relive the glory days! After hearing the 4 runner, it was so very obvious how much I was trying to just be happy with what I had. I had a drive and that kicker key is pretty nuts. Fading it full front and full rear lets you hear what is going to each...
  14. Testing the Kicker Key, 7 Speaker XLT

Well after seeing that center speaker in real life I could not help but think it looked like a speaker out of an old VW or something. I have only seen pictures of the door speakers, they look just about the same.
  15. Testing the Kicker Key, 7 Speaker XLT

Yeah, speakers are coming for Xmas provided I don't get myself on the naughty list before then. I have some 6x9 with separate tweeters and 6 3/4" picked out for the rear. I was really just dying to see how far these stock speakers could be pushed. The HS10 is rated for 125hz and lower but it...
  16. Testing the Kicker Key, 7 Speaker XLT

Just for the sake of sharing the other stuff I looked at while trying to figure this stuff out. The treble settings look to be adjusting 3k+ The mid controls 250 to 3k Bass 250 and lower. I did look at a few other screens but I think most people will quickly understand magnitude...
  17. Testing the Kicker Key, 7 Speaker XLT

I have read over the full "Best bang for your buck thread" several times. I messed around with car stereo systems in my younger days. Since I got this 7 speaker XLT, I have not been impressed with the sound. It is not completely horrible after adding the HS10. So I had been putting it on the...
  18. Speakers-best bang for the buck

Yup 7 speaker non-B&O. Pac harness to splice in. The key will run front and rear doors (stock speakers until Xmas.). I will unplug the center (at least for tuning, probably long term). Does that make sense? Yes, splice in before the amp. I figured, just making sure. Thanks for taking the time.
  19. Speakers-best bang for the buck

Okay smart people, I am not sure what to do here. I have the HS10, ready to go, and I am about to install the kicker key 200.4. So if the key auto-tunes itself, where will I pick up the signal for the HS10 now? Do I just slice in before the kicker key to get a raw signal? Guess what I am...
