I’m in the same boat. Do I need it, no, but do I want it yes. I plan my finances very well, but am also of the mind that we don’t know when our time on this planet will end and we can’t take the money with us so I might as well enjoy my life now.
Just received this info from Ford chat:
Thank you for waiting Shawn. I'm showing your vehicle is in production. I also see a secondary status of origin received, updated 1/26/2024. This means your vehicle has been received by a carrier at the origin plant ramp location and is awaiting shipment...
I’m in the same boat that my truck still shows in production and I also spoke with my dealer yesterday and heard that my truck will supposedly release by tomorrow, March 6th. So, that also means I could potentially have my truck by the weekend since I live 20 miles from the factory where it’s...
Supposedly Ford has started to ship out these F150s according to this Freep article this morning.
2024 Ford F-150 pickups stored on Michigan lots ship on schedule after quality checks...
But seriously, it looks like the 24s won’t be readily available to purchase on lots until June if not later at this point. Chevy and Dodge will be most likely releasing their 24s in August/September. I feel like Ford is going to have to skip a model year in order to catch up.
Saw a 24 703a Platinum in the wild today. Was driving west bound in I-96 in Michigan near Grand River around 2pm. It looked like it might have been a dealer truck based on the stickers on the windshield; also it didn’t have the new pro access tailgate.
Just got off the phone with my dealer. Ordered a Platinum 702a about a week after they were announced and it went into production on Jan 8th. He said that my truck has been sitting at QC since Feb 7th and is scheduled to be released March 6th.
My hope, and this is just speculation, is that these higher trim models are being delayed partly so they can add the pro-access tailgates. By what I’ve read in this thread, job 2 model trucks are going to get them and those start production in a couple of weeks. So, I’d think that would mean...
Early November isn’t that long ago. I ordered my 24 mid-September and they just sent my build date email 2 days ago. It’s a job 1 build starting on January 15th. So, you might not hear anything until the end of this month or sometime in January since yours is most likely a job 2 or 3 build.
I received the same email as well for the same truck! Definitely excited, but it doesn’t confirm whether or not we are getting the pro access tailgate.
You are correct in as it isn’t in true manual mode as the truck will take over to ensure you’re not messing up the engine. Most modern vehicles that have this “manual” mode operate the same way as most people don’t really know how to actually drive a manual nowadays.
