  1. 5.0 13 Gen vs power boost 14 gen

Daily. Call it 20k a year. Some city, mostly highway, occasional trailer but far from hard pulling.
  2. 5.0 13 Gen vs power boost 14 gen

Looking at pb maintenance, obviously not going to tackle a battery, but wouldn't have any issue doing a turbo myself. 5k budget get one of these to 200k? Crazy enough it looks like I could dang near buy one, just keep 5k to the side and still be about even cost wise vs a lot of these 5.0
  3. 5.0 13 Gen vs power boost 14 gen

Any high mileage power boost out there? Curious what maintenance cost from 150k 59 200k look like. I love the idea of a power boost, and the concept makes all sorts of sense.
  4. 5.0 13 Gen vs power boost 14 gen

That was my gut feeling... And you touched on my next question. Would like to stay 18 or newer, but wondering if there are any reasons to focus on a 20 vs 18 or 19. I do like the idea of having the last year of an older style... Whether they actually have all the bugs out or not, it makes you...
  5. 5.0 13 Gen vs power boost 14 gen

Looking at used pickups, specifically sub 30k, typically XLT, and around 100k miles. As I've looked around 5.0 seem to be bringing a premium, while the power boost seems somewhat undervalued. While a 2020 5.0 XLT is a couple grand cheaper then the 21 power boost, the 21 power boost seems to be...
  6. Lane Assist hugs center divider line

For what it is worth, my '21 Lariat hugs left terribly, to the point that I don't remember the last time I used lane keep. Also don't have bluecruise so can't compare.
  7. Ford Performance Tune- Is there a price point where it makes sense?

Thanks for the feedback. I certainly get that there are probably "better" or at least higher performance options out there, but for the "plug and play" the FP doesn't seem like a bad option. Did you notice any difference in transmission performance with the FP option? Curious if it smooths...
  8. Ford Performance Tune- Is there a price point where it makes sense?

Exactly what the title states... I know the general consensus seems to be you are better off with MPT or 5 star, but is there a price where the FP calibration is worth it? With current 20% sale it's at $680, and I have a credit card offer for 25% cash back at FP, making the effective price just...
  9. 2021 XLT SuperCrew Long Bed with Tow Mirrors

That’s on my list… it’s a fairly loaded lariat so trying to find power fold/extend, camera, blind spot, etc for reasonable. Don’t really NEED them so just been looking casually at this point.
  10. 2021 XLT SuperCrew Long Bed with Tow Mirrors

Love my 157". Also a Canadian truck brought back to Iowa. Was actually ordered with BAP but I swapped back to the 18" sport rims. Wish I had the tow mirrors but if I held out for that and 157 I never would have gotten a pickup.
  11. Dusty panel after paint

Good to know. I will touch base with them before making any decisions. One other thing that I found interesting. When this got repaired, the roof got repainted as well for some other damage. I haven't noticed the same attraction of dust to the roof panel, but it is also much more difficult...
  12. Dusty panel after paint

Interesting thoughts. I bought it used, and while I have not done any sort of protective coating, no guarantees that the previous owner didn't. I did think about at least trying a good hand wash and clay bar just to see what happens, so may still go that route. I do need to take it back to...
  13. Windshield replacement

Need to talk to them yet. If I remember right I have a full deductible for glass replacement, which if that's the case will just pay out of pocket... but worth the phone call
  14. Windshield replacement

Got an unrepairable chunk taken out of the windshield yesterday. What is best option for replacement? Quoted almost 700 for OEM glass plus 140 labor from the local dealer. I've had non OEM glass put in previous vehicles but have also had issues with it not looking right (tint color different)...
  15. Dusty panel after paint

Hey all, recently had my 150 in to get a door ding repaired. Damage cracked the paint so they fixed the dent, and completely repainted and clear coat the door. Ever since, that panel gets significantly more dust on it. My question is is it because of missing protective coat that the rest of...
  16. Bad Falken AT4W experience (intermittent shaking) - Resolved w/BFG KO3

I currently have at3 on my 150, and they have significantly more vibration at highway speed then my last 4 sets of k02 have had. And 3 sets of the k02 were on 250 diesel. Haven't gotten around to a rebalance to see if it can get fixed, but as of now would go to k03 over at4w no questions asked.
  17. Line-X Faces Mass Exodus as Franchisees Refuse New Agreement Terms

I went linex on this one. My last 2020 250 had the ford factory liner, and while the bulk of it was fine (no chipping in the middle) the edges did not wrap around as far. I slide a several hundred pound tool box in and out quite a bit, and the ford peeled up at the rear of the bed. The linex...
  18. '21 transmission leak

It's interesting you say that. I was having the common hard shift between 3 and 4, and relearn seems to have taken care of it. Have put any 5k on since. However, if I go into sport mode that 3-4 shift seems to get much harder then the others.
  19. '21 transmission leak

That's exactly what happened. Agreed on knowing where the temp was. To be honest couldn't find the trans temp, and was more focused on getting it off the road! Little unnerving for smoke to be rolling up around you... But now I'm curious where temp was as well.
  20. '21 transmission leak

Well, if anyone else has a similar problem I heard from the dealer today. Apparently back in 2021 well before I owned it, a dealership replaced a valve body in the transmission on warranty. When they refilled the transmission they overfilled it. With "normal" driving it never caused a problem...
