Read 3 or four places that ford tried to deny a claim because the recommend interval for fluid change on transmission from ford is like 100k or 150k not sure which it really is I’ve seen both. They were saying the transmission gave out because you did not adhere to proper recommended intervals...
Now that you say that. It dawns on me now that I have done that and the engine responded as you suggest. I think the turn out of a stop threw me off enough to think it might be something different.
What do you do now turning out of a stop? Gas it? ?Also I feel sometimes when I do get it second...
Realizing now it’s the same with mine. Just got concerned cause I heard everyone saying it goes though all gears in sport
do you drive in tow haul all the time?
Mine shifts great. It just has a tendency to skip second I tested it on a little heavier foot coming out of stop several times and when I did that I went into second every time but once. Maybe didn’t punch it enough that one time lol
I read everywhere that if your in sport mode the truck will hit every gear. Well mine still skips going up and down. Anyone else experiencing this? Should I contact dealer?
The only other truck that I know of that has a wet belt for oil pump is the GM. Ford just had a massive recall on one for the ecoboost/Escape. That’s what sparked my question.
I know there are a lot of German cars on the road with these. Is that what you are speaking of?
That’s good to hear that they are extending the lifetime of the belt as far as when they recommend to change it. At least GM isn’t expecting their customer to believe that a belt will last “forever”. Do you know if GM’s belt is made of the same material?
I will still change this belt if I keep...
I’m wondering what everyone’s plan is on changing the oil pump belt? 100k miles? 150k miles? I’m aware of the “lifetime” lie.
I asked a ford mechanic on how much this would be to replace and was told around $5k.
Just seeing if anyone else has put some thought into this!
