  1. Work Surface Usage

I have it and I work from the truck several hours a week (usually while kid is at practice). I've never used the work surface though. Here's why: If you're using the keyboard intensively, such as when writing pages of documentation, or developing software, the laptop needs to be in front of you...
  2. Closing in on a year with no OTAs... just another rant.

Same here, on my 2021 PowerBoost. After the update it's still on SYNC 23159 rev915, but hey after 8 months of no updates, I'll take what I can get. Will be interesting to see if we start getting more updates, if this actually does improve the software update process like it states. I reviewed...
  3. Musty/mold smell after carwash/rain

I had the same problem with my PowerBoost. It ended up being a leak in the coolant line running under the engine back to the battery pack. The moisture was being pulled into the cab by the HVAC system. See this post for more information and pictures...
  4. 2021 Owners - What is your OTA Version?

2021 PowerBoost, Job1 (from May of 2021). Also stuck on 4.2.4 with the Owner's manual update from Sept 2023. No updates or any indication of trying to update since then. Meanwhile my wife's Tesla Model Y notifies my mobile every week that it's updating itself. Come on Ford, do better.
  5. So this happened earlier today (hood popped open)

This happened to me a couple months ago as well, in my '21 F-150 PowerBoost, after about 30 miles of driving at 70 mph on the interstate. I did not get any early warning dashboard notification, however. Fortunately the secondary latch held until I pulled over.
  6. 2021 coolant line leak from rubbing on alternator pulley not covered by warranty

I'm sorry to hear that your dealer is pushing back on the warranty repair. I've had a similar experience. My powerboost with just 9000 miles suffered from this same problem last October. I had been noticing a musty smell every time I started the truck but it went away within a few minutes so...
  7. Early (Job1?) 2021 models, without having purchased an extended BlueCruise subscription, no longer have hands-free available

That's interesting. Keep us posted on if it becomes deactivated again. I still haven't received a single OTA update since my original post.
  8. Early (Job1?) 2021 models, without having purchased an extended BlueCruise subscription, no longer have hands-free available

I just received this email a few minutes ago, further confirming my initial post (not that it needed any further confirmation): But it also confirms that the $600 offer is still available, and wasn't intended to be only available during the month of December, or prior to expiration.
  9. Early (Job1?) 2021 models, without having purchased an extended BlueCruise subscription, no longer have hands-free available

The FordPass app shows it has expired as of today, and over the month of December I received two emails stating that it would expire at the end of December. Hands-free driving was working Saturday (12/30/2023), but not today (Monday, 1/1/2024). So it all aligns with it being deactivated...
  10. Early (Job1?) 2021 models, without having purchased an extended BlueCruise subscription, no longer have hands-free available

Yes! I maintain several open source software projects myself, so I'd prefer to send money in that direction anyway. Ford's $600/3yr offer, combined with the hope that Ford would continue maintaining the software in this truck, was the only reason I considered purchasing the subscription. But if...
  11. Early (Job1?) 2021 models, without having purchased an extended BlueCruise subscription, no longer have hands-free available

I didn't get a rebate/refund but technically I'm the second owner even though it had less than 1k miles on it when the dealer listed it for sale. It's was built in May of 2021 if that helps.
  12. Early (Job1?) 2021 models, without having purchased an extended BlueCruise subscription, no longer have hands-free available

I had no intention of trying to be misleading nor persuade anyone's opinion. There have been a number of uncertainties related to BlueCruise that neither Ford customer service nor the online community was able to answer with full confidence. I was attempting to post facts as I have observed them...
  13. Early (Job1?) 2021 models, without having purchased an extended BlueCruise subscription, no longer have hands-free available

I took the truck out for a test drive today, first day of 2024. Even though the SYNC version screen still shows "Hands-free driving" available until Oct 3, 2074, it has in fact been disabled. The non-hands-free BlueCruise (basically just Lane Keep Assist) still functions, however. I have not...
