I'm sure you're right. I felt that replacing the GWM was a waste because I can't imagine how everything could be working of the GWM was bad. I connected to the GWM with Forscan and a Mongoose connector. I hope nothing was damaged replacing it.
I did in fact turn off automatic updates last year and avoided updates since then. Maybe that's the source of the problem. I'll give them a week to see if Ford Engineering responds and then probably just ask them to put the dash back together and pick it up until they are ready with an actual...

The GWM shows up when finding modules. I don't see any trouble codes listed, but I'm not sure if I need to look somewhere other than the module listing to see any trouble codes.

As indicated in this thread, Jesse-Infotainment was able to fix this on my truck using Forscan to change the value. I took the truck to the dealer today to fix a couple minor recalls and they are telling me that the can't communicate with the PCM and are going to have to pull the dash to check...
For some reason, fdrs wasn't making the correction, but Jesse-Infotainment was able to fix it by remotely accessing my laptop and using Forscan to manually change the configuration value from 0322 to 0332. My tailgate is working perfectly now!

I can't seem to login to FDRS. The 2-day license key that I bought was validated, but I can't login with a userid/password. The three options for logging in in the dropdown list are:

Yes, they have been getting network communication errors. I may have misunderstood, but they indicated that the gateway control module would have to be replaced because the software on those modules can't be replaced.
TJSam that is great news. Can you tell me what dealer you were using so I can see if my dealer can contact them? What software was actually loaded? Just the gateway control module software?
I agree that the dealer has probably already checked everything obvious since my experience is that they have a top-notch service dept. I'll take a quick look, mainly to see if I can unlatch it temporarily. Hoping that TJSam finds out something since he seems to be farther along in the process.
