I never got anywhere with the techs that service my truck. Still makes the noise and it does seem to have gotten louder with time. I appreciate you adding t this thread. Please keep us updated if you ever get any more information.
In my book, no its not worth it to go E. I have run the ATX, but I think I would take a chance on the new G3. The ATX worked well in deep snow, but it is kind of noisy on road, especially after it wears a bit.
I will add that if you are looking for snow performance you usually want to try and stick with SL tires. Often the E rated tires use a harder rubber compound vs the SL tires. The softer compound will help in compact snow/ice conditions.
Ill also add that I have been running the SL Toyo AT3 in...
No, not really. It does seem to be slightly louder today than when i posted that video. Dealership said it was normal, but I don't trust their techs. Next dealership is 2.5 hours away so I never got a second opinion.
I have heard a lot of pumps in my day, and NEVER have they made any noise even close to this. If their diagnosis is a pump and that it was normal, I would get a paper trail going. Pumps don't make clicking noises. Pumps are rotating impellers and flowing fluid. It could be something related to...
The electric powertrain system does put out a a noise and its fairly normal. The normal sound is like a high frequency electrical winding noise.
This is a high speed clicking noise that sounds kinda like pump cavitation. Without a video of your noise I cant say if its different or the same.
It seems my truck has developed a noise when sitting idle in electrical mode. Truck has about 10k on it and I don't remember it making this noise when I first got it. The video is attached. I also linked a facebook posts where someone asked the same question in a ford f150 powerboost group.
This is true. It was just a quick though off the top of my head. I wonder if there is still juice left in the hybrid battery when the 12v system is dead, or if it just below a certain voltage threshold and the software/hardware wont allow access to it for fear of damaging the battery? I am...
Has anyone started carrying a 120v Booster cable instead of traditional jumper cables in their truck? Seems like if you had dead battery you could just boost off of the hybrid pack.
This would work right? Has anyone been in a situation where they have tried this out?
Anyone have any close calls with their F150, but had the safety features of their new truck help them out. This could be your truck stopping you before you back into something, or applying the brakes before you rear end someone, or helping you stop faster when a deer jumps out in front of you...
I take it that you have seen the stock 18" lariat wheels? They look like this:

Is there a general consensus for the people who have done the kicker install with and without the LC2i on whether the LC2i is needed?
I think I am going to be doing this install myself and seeing if the added complexity of the LC2i is worth the effort.
Anyone mind sharing what they are seeing for APR rates? Left the dealership Saturday and the best they could find was 3.99 for 60. My two local credit unions where the same. This was for anything between 36 and 60 months.
I am orderings parts right now and giving it a go. Seems like you order everything in units of 1 except for the LED lights, which would be 2 units. Order total is 5 items for about 153 dollars plus shipping. Correct?
With respect to the parts, is it fairly easy plug and play? Was there a post that outlined the hardware install?
Thanks for posting all the information. It was much appreciated.
Is there a post or a youtube video that you used to do this? I am thinking about doing the same, but am just gathering the references from various post on the internet.
Just got a call from my dealer. Truck landed last night. Got prepped today. Its about a 45 min drive, hoping to get down there tomorrow to take it for a test drive.
I remember seeing the OEM ones a year ago when I first started looking at the f150s. Haven't seen them on Ford accessories since I order my truck back in February of this year. I looked before I started this thread, but I think there may be a supply issue.
