    According to my 2021 PB service manual the AC compressor has a motor and a belt driven clutch. So the power source can be the engine or the traction motor.

    FYI, according to service manual the engine won’t shut off when speed is above 62 mph. That means the engine will shut off when the required conditions are satisfied. I did have electric mode running over 55 mph.

    So have to disconnect BOTH batteries for a HARD Reset.

    My guess, the two batteries are connected in parallel. So disconnecting battery cable under the hood will not shut down the 12V system.

    There is another inverter that converts 450VDC to single phase 120 VAC.

    FYI, according to my understanding The high voltage traction battery HVTB is 450 VDC nominal. So the hybrid generator should output higher than 450 VDC to charge the HVTB. The traction motor is a 3 phase AC motor. So there is an inverter to convert 450VDC to 3 phase AC to power the motor...
