  1. Dealerships wanting to buy used trucks.

I've had 2 dealers offer the same as CarMax, and 2 offer me reasonable trades ins. 37500 from CarMax and 42000 from dealer
  2. Dealerships wanting to buy used trucks.

Carvana and CarMax estimates are laughingly low on a 302 high xlt
  3. F-150 Lobo Street Truck Prototype Spied!

It still has a ptu thats tuned for street use instead offroad. It drives very similar to by mk7 gti. If I got a good trade in offer I think I may trade my f150 in for one
  4. F-150 Lobo Street Truck Prototype Spied!

Maverick Lobo has the same ptu. It's basically a lowered tremor with a new trans. It does look and drive pretty nice
  5. New over the top chinese PHEV

At that point it just sounds like typical ford QC than reliability. Don't scare me like that I was thinking of trading in for a ranger raptor
  6. New over the top chinese PHEV

I thought the 3.0s were supposedly very reliable?
  7. I really don't get the PB hate.

Unfortunately they only have plans to sell it in Australia for now. It also has the 2.3 Ecoboost which I'm not a huge fan of
  8. I really don't get the PB hate.

If I'm not mistaken the ranger hybrid does have a mode to recharge the battery while driving on ice. As for the payload hit, I think we all know ford is more than capable of upping their numbers, but they need to protect their holy grail of overpriced HD trucks
  9. I really don't get the PB hate.

Depending on the configuration it can be charged by the ICE, but to get the most out of it youd wanna top off the battery when at home or in a parking lot. The plug in ranger has 4 modes for managing the battery which is pretty neat. I wish it would make it's way to the US sooner rather than later
  10. First time I haven't felt safe with lane centering.

What does Blue Cruise do better than lane centering+ adaptive cruise? Will it overtake or take exits automatically? I kinda prefer the the latter since it doesn't throw a fit if I look at the screen. Regarding all the comments about it hugging the line, I felt the same but every time I've...
  11. XLT thread, because an XLT is the very BEST way to order a F150. Everyone agrees.

My only complaint is how they calculate the resale value of the XLT since it can vary from a work truck to nicer than a lariat. Mine has almost every option you can get and it's trade in value is piss poor compared to a base lariat
  12. Current F-150 model life extended; next-gen F-150 delayed until at least mid-2028

To be entirely fair the lightbulb industry did something similar to this, although they directly benefit from people buying more bulbs than car companies from more gas
  13. Current F-150 model life extended; next-gen F-150 delayed until at least mid-2028

I would love to see ford bring the plug in ranger to the US and develop a plug-in F-150. We'll have to wait and see
  14. Current F-150 model life extended; next-gen F-150 delayed until at least mid-2028

Regarding the Byrd, I like the concept. I wouldn't ever buy one but competition is good, hoping it lights a fire under the domestic markets ass

Do you mean Iike the turbo systems in formula 1? I think it's a very promising technology, 0 spool, and you can recover a ton of energy that way.
  16. Current F-150 model life extended; next-gen F-150 delayed until at least mid-2028

Yes if you're soley going off the otto cycle (which you can't really use for calculations of turbo engines) even then the difference in efficiency between say the coyote and Ecoboost from compression is less than 1% if you do the math. Smaller engines have less friction losses, and yes turbos...

Thermodynamics disagrees from your facts but we'll agree to disagree. There's no point in digging out equations from my thermo notes because even if I did go through the effort of changing your mind, it won't change what ford will do. I agree, the erev system does not make sense for me in the...

I don't really know much about the towing mpgs but it makes sense that the Ecoboost used more fuel as it makes a good bit more power in the rev range you would be towing at. They probably run it rich for cooling too since the 3.5 was not exactly designed to be boosted to begin with. For the...
  19. Current F-150 model life extended; next-gen F-150 delayed until at least mid-2028

Are you comparing peak hp or the whole powerband? Ideally you wouldn't want to keep the rpms low. I don't know much about about the 3.3 but if the power was similar enough to the 2.7 and used less fuel I don't think ford would be bothering with the latter. I don't think it's coincidence that a...
  20. Current F-150 model life extended; next-gen F-150 delayed until at least mid-2028

Clearly I overestimated your knowledge and reading comprehension skills if you think I'm uneducated on the manner and if you gathered is that I want a plain hybrid. No, it's not a plain old hybrid. I want an electric car with a range extender that can charge it faster than the motors will...
