Just back from the Ford Service Center for routine maintenance. Good news is that they have a software fix for the oil life dropping to zero. Bad news is it takes 2-3 hours for the update to be installed. So I am going back and they will do the update and fix a warranty issue (see Powertrain...
Just back from the Ford Service Center. They diagnosed my Powertrain Fault as a shifter module issue. They had to order the part and are replacing it under warranty. I will post the news about the oil life issue in the appropriate thread (hint: there is a fix but it is a 2-3 hour software update!)
I have been getting this randomly over the past month. It eventually clears and then reappears. Have not noticed any issue while driving whether the fault is displayed or not. Going to be two weeks before dealer has an opening with the right technician
Mine just says "Powertrain...
What is with all the screw/no screw stuff on the FitCamX? The website and amazon seem to make a big deal about it, like it matters for which camera you order or whether it will fit, but then doesn't say what to do depending on your mirror (screw/no screw) situation
Interesting. Took me a minute to figure out what this was by the photo. But looks like a complete upper shelf under the armrest/center console. Good for "hiding" what is underneath and organizing lots of small items. I do have a lot of smaller items doing field work - pens, pencils, field...
The PB will definitely do better in local driving rather than highway. The trick is a gentle foot and "playing the hills" so you are at your speed at the top and then coasting. I get above 25 mpg with local driving, but probably 21-22 when I have to travel highways for an extended period. My...
It is nice that the reset oil life is just a setting on the screen rather than a weird bunch of steps like turn car on, press brake pedal 3 times etc (like my old VW). But it is NOT nice that the feature no longer works.
When My oil life calculator was working (from new truck purchase to first oil change/service interval), I got down to 6% or so at around 10,000 miles. The tracker hasn't worked since, went right to zero shortly after that first major service. I think I will change the oil again when it hits 15K
My old work F150 was a standard ICE and the auto-shutdown was very annoying. It isn't even really a thing with my PowerBoost. As @turbopilot said, the PB is always smoothly switching between gas and electric - the only way i can tell is by watching the RPMs and oil pressure drop to zero
Update to my new truck. Light bar added on back light bracket, hard folding tonneau cover, window rain guards, and the M3T marking. I have mud flaps waiting for me to install.
I had a coworker who bought the Lightning. His response, when asked, is that it is lightning fast but tow capacity is weak and battery life was much lower than advertised, especially during our cold Adirondack winters.
For some time, my app was saying 100% even though my truck said 0%. Now they both say 0%. And it is VERY ANNOYING to have to push the okay button on the CHANGE OIL NOW warning that pops up every time I start the vehicle!
My dealer said they would "look at it" next time I was in, but it isn't a sensor so I don't know what they can do. He also said they have had vehicles go from 100% to 0% as they took it out of the service bay after an oil change. That was encouraging!
