Installed Bilstein 6112/5160s this morning. Struts set to position 4 which is 1.5" height increase netting a 2.25" difference front to rear instead of 3.75". Love the more controlled ride vs. stock. 1,100 miles on the truck.
I'm curious about this to learn if speaker replacement provides a meaningful improvement or not with the OEM head unit. In the past, I've done some swaps (been some years now) and didn't find there to be much benefit, things may have changed by now though.
Based on this information, I turned off automatic updates as well. The opportunity to research updates prior to updating the truck is probably a good thing.
Would you mind to provide the cost? I'm curious how much this might cost. Looks really nice though. Did you do the install yourself? Are the OEM cloth covers removed? Thanks!
Pssssssh... it's not "modding" it's essential maintenance. You know, for the well-being of your investment and the ROI from fuel savings is irrefutable.
Went from a 1999 F250 to a 2022 STX EB. Huge change in smootheness, quietness, and enjoyment. The 250 served us very well for a long time and had many improvements done to it, but we decided it was finally time to change.
3.31 to 3.55 is a 7.2% increase in ratio. Hardly seems worth the expense unless you feel like the trucks performance has suffered too much. I would think with the 10 speed, it handles the larger tire fine. Going to 3.73 is a 12.6% increase. If set on making the change, I probably would go to...
It is difficult to determine real-world benefits of an aftermarket IC for typical use. For as many posts as I see in favor, I see a relative amount saying it's not worth the investment. I have read removing a single louver providing excellent benefits. It may really just come down to preference.
Makes sense. I ordered the same kit with 5160s and will install on my '22 EB. I find the OEM ride very spongy and too bouncy on larger variations. Smooth but not as controlled as I like.
