No change in mileage that I have perceived. I noticed it a bit on my Tacoma, but I got the MX version, with the hump. But not on the F-150.
I have not noticed blind spot problems, or rear-view problems, on either of the trucks, F-150 or Tacoma.
Maybe just me. I'm getting on up there in age...
ARE (and I think LEER as well) also have options for side windows that open. If you're tall enough, you can reach things inside through those.
Both my wife and I are short, so loading/unloading anything over the side of the bed of an F150 is a non-starter.
Does the Ecoboost have a different transmission than the Powerboost? Or is the problem instigated by the pump that keeps transmission fluid circulating when the ICE is off?
We have a couple of trucks, one Tacoma, one F150 PB. We have caps on both. I wouldn't be without one.
One thing to note: we were thinking of getting a tonneau for the F150 to start, with the idea if we needed to later, adding a cap. The dealer told us that putting a tonneau on (OEM, factory, or...
We were having a flashing "Trailer Brake Control fault" message starting about 2 weeks before Christmas. It was flashing and disappearing so fast that we could barely read it. It finally hard faulted/failed on the 26th, with the truck having just under 16,000 miles on it. Fortunately, we already...
I think we’ve seen that one once or twice. May have been accompanied with a 4WD fault? The two times it happened (if it what I’m thinking about), it was in our driveway. So I switched to a 4WD mode, and it worked fine. Cycled power, and the fault went away. Haven’t seen it in a long time...
I dunno... I mean, it looks like they did it. But I gotta say, I think I got mine wrapped up better than that. I mean, me doing it myself. Plus, I did a wee bit of bending of the bracket. But not far. I wanted to make sure the fixture went back on the bracket.
That sounds very similar to my Tacoma. Well, in snow. I once was trying to pull onto a road from a slight uphill incline with it. Just "normal mode" equivalent. It had one rear wheel on a patch of snow, and kept dethrottling when that wheel would spin. I disengaged traction control, which...
Are you against doing the repair yourself? Using the information provided in this thread, I ordered the 1/2" zip ties and the tape and did the repair myself, as per the TSB. Are you able to order from the States?
We will still take ours in and get the repair done by Ford service. But at least I...
It is on a timer. My wife (or I) have regularly had to wait for an hour or so at the equestrian barn where my daughter rides. The first time she did that in the PB, she had it in accessory mode. After, I think, 30 minutes, it shut itself down. I think it will even do this if you park it for that...
Interesting. I guess that makes sense. And should do a better job of preventing the loss of remote features. Will probably do this procedure the next time I drive it, and will mention it to the wife?
Is the general thought that this procedure will also help the battery last longer?
We've gotten the "remote features disabled" on our PB a couple of times. Warning on the app, that is. To the best of my knowledge, neither of us has paid it any attention, went about our business, and the next time either of us got in the truck, everything worked normally. It was very random...
I did ours last Thursday. The wiring was HARD pressed against the axle. I first tried prying the bracket away from the axle tube, but that wasn't working too well. I managed to get about 1/8" clearance, and zip-tied the wiring cup back to the bracket. We went somewhere, and when we got back...
I should have been more precise in my wording, or maybe just a little more verbose.
I didn't mean that it doesn't happen on XLT trucks. But that it might be driven by something that is standard on higher end trucks, but an option on XLTs, and only occurs on the XLT if you happen to order that...
Lot of truth there.
I'm suspecting it is one of the modules that IS on the higher end trucks, but not on the XLT. Or one of the packages that is standard on the higher end, but not on XLT. Our XLT is rather stripped down, and we've only had this happen, maybe, once. Maybe twice. At this point, I...
Do you mean without having to OK it?
I would agree, though. Leave it as is until I change it.
Unless it is in a 4wd mode, maybe. I don't have 4Auto, so it's bad juju to drive 4wd on pavement.
I liken it to issues I've seen in the past with the current generation of DoD aircraft (fighters, attack). The things are so computerized that occasionally a piece of hardware will miss a beat on startup, and the jet will essentially be bricked. Luckily, this happens in the test phase, before...
