It has been my experience with every vehicle I have leveled/lifted and put bigger tires on that the speed and mpg are off from factory tire size. After correcting (in Fords case with forscan) it corrects the speed and fixes the mpg. After this correction the mpg improves from before the...
If I remember right the TCU was fairly quick, maybe 20-30 minutes. I believe the APIM took a couple hours. I had quite a few other updates and the total time for all of them was around 6-7 hours.
Two more I would consider are the SL Toyo AT3 in 275/60/20 or the Nitto Recon 275/60/20 and I believe they also make that one in a 275/65/20 SL rating as well.
I have read that putting 5100’s on the rear only made a significant difference for those who swapped the rears out. Definitely worth trying as this is the cheapest and simplest way to make some improvement.
I would recommend Bilstein 5100’s set at stock height if you don’t want to level. I had an F150 setup like this and the ride was much more controlled/settled and corrected exactly what you are describing.
Nice write up, thanks for including pics too! Curious what kind of tires you put on it when you replaced the stockers? If you changed them how did they compare?
Not only have I done this on my Ford (several of them) trucks since 2015, I have also “helped” my neighbors do this too. Makes for a quiet neighborhood.
I tried to run your vin through FDRS but it shows some sort of error, says "Problem resolving Vehicle Identification Number". I could not get any info for you. Hopefully someone else will get it for you.
