I did a 408 km's today and was in Eco mode on the way up 204 km's and Normal on the way back 204 kms.
I set the cruise at 120 km's on the Hwy and 10 km's over the speed limit on the back roads. Overall trip up in eco was 20.3 mpg or 11.5 L/100 km.
On the way back same roads and normal setting...
Welp, I picked up my truck and unfortunately, they have no idea what it could be.
There was not enough snow to cover the roads or ice for testing of the issue. They asked me to bring it back next time it is snowing and we will try again. There is an open log in at Ford engineering, about the...
Thanks Chris993.
I would bet that it is clutched in or out someway. That would make sense as to why it is working in Slippery mode and the other 4wd modes.
I will let you know what I find out tomorrow. Definitely have been impressed with the investigation that the dealer and Ford is putting in.
Thanks Roger350.
Yes, I think that is what is going on. On dry, wet roads there is no problem because there is enough friction to maintain control of the contact with the road.
On Snow and ice the wheels slide instead of rolling, is the way I see it.
If this is the case, I am not sure how...
The dealer is looking at my truck for the next day or so. I have spoken with the Ford dealer shop manager and they are going to get to the bottom of this.
I should know more tomorrow afternoon.
I think I know what the problem is after speaking with the shop manager. I learned alot about how a...
Thats awesome! what speeds were you traveling? I only have about 700 Miles on my truck and have found that it will get 24 Mpg at 65 mph but when I travel 75 mph I am getting around 21. My numbers are all in Normal Mode or slippery . outside temp is also in the -13 to -10 deg c range
Yes, deep sand and snow is definitely got what I would call a power surge, if you compare it to slippery mode in 4A.
The locking rear end will also only engage below a certain speed. I have never used it.
I was out most of the day driving in snow covered roads in slippery mode with it in 4A...
Ryan, you are going to love this truck. It's just awesome. I will take it to the dealer this week and let you know when I find out anything.
If you put it in A4 Normal, or slippery it appears to work fine. 2wd is dangerous! I am very surprised that there is no anti lock on the rear regen mode...
I am going to have the dealer investigate. I almost backed it into the corner today coming off the Hwy onto the off ramp. Hardly touched the brakes and it again wanted to pull the ass around.
It is significantly worse in Normal mode in 2wd. I went and did some testing in all of the drive modes...
yes it does. I drove in Normal, slippery and 4H with the same results in each. Traction was not the issue while accelerating, it was the braking and when I say light, I mean gentle , like gliding to a stop or slowing around a corner. The rear brakes are grabbing and want to lock up. I did have a...
Yes, it does not appear to make much difference whether in 2wd or 4H.
I was also in the slippery setting. Braking works fine if you actually brake.
It would have been nice to have a brake bias control so I could put more to the front like my racecar ??. The problem seems to be only under light...
Has anyone noticed that their Powerboost hybrid wants to lock up the rear tires and pull the arse end around under breaking, on winter snow and ice covered road conditions?
It only seems to happen under light breaking when the battery is charging.
I have noticed that there is a sweet spot that they want you to stay in while accelerating and deceleration. I have the eco coach engaged and it helps you get the most out of your MPG.
So far I am averaging 23.6 with 480 miles on the truck. I might try and put together a little video. Nothing...
I have read that android auto 6.1 is coming out and will have the fix. It's not a Ford problem from what I have read. My AA is version 6.0. Hopefully they announce when the update is available.
Just wanted to update you on my Hill assist code.
Apparently it never registered on the Computer system, only my Ford pass App.
Bottom line is that they scanned it and can't find anything wrong. They did some updates on Gateway module that are out, but this is it.
That's good news I guess...
I have had the aeroskin hood guard on my trucks. I am waiting for a chrome one for my 2021 but they are unavailable at the moment. The bug deflector that is raised off the surface, I found it hummed and made lots of noise while driving. Went back to the Aeroskin flat on the leading surface and...
