As I understand it, the electric motor/generator is always connected to the engine, and is disconnected from the transmission when in "N" (ProPower works when the truck is in "P", right?
So when in "N", the HV battery receives charging current. Perhaps less current than if you were in "D" while...
My lifetime average is 20mpg (31000 miles). That includes pulling a 5000lb trailer (approx 5000 miles), and I have E rated snow tires on the truck (for the past 18000 miles).
Before the trailer and heavy tires, I was getting a solid 24mpg.
I have a '21 PB Lariat W/Max Tow (also FX4). I used to pull a 5000lb camping trailer, and It's tongue weight was typically 550lbs. By the time I had all my camping gear and passengers loaded into the truck, I hit 90% of the payload limit, which is OK, but not ideal.
The rig towed like a dream...
If you have your cab ventilation (A/C) fan on, I would shut that down and see if the noise persists.
I don't know what else might be turning when the ICE is off. and the vehicle is stopped. AFAIK the traction battery cooling system depends on the ICE cooling pump, unlike a BEV which has one or...
I mean "inefficient" compared to charging from the grid.
Worth noting that you won't be able to pull 30 amps from the ProPower continuously, and the portable charger you get with the Mach-E is designed to draw 32 amps @ 240 volts.
Here's a video - about 5 minutes in they demonstrate what...
Using the PB's ProPower to charge an MME is not recommended on a daily basis. It's relatively slow and very inefficient.. However it can be done, and in an emergency could be very helpful.
I can also use my ProPower to run backup to my house. In the event that my main power fails, there's no...
Bank B is amber in your display, while bank A is green - same as mine. I just encountered that today after getting a new stereo installed. When I try the test function, it fails on bank B and prompts me to reset.
Both banks are working on my truck, so I'm puzzled about what's really going on.
Right on! Looks like a great time!
I have a question about the SYNC screen display in your photo. It seems that you're using bank A to charge the bike, and bank B is unused. It also appears that bank B has a ground fault detected. I ask because my display is reporting something similar, yet...
The +/- buttons on the side of the gear shifter allow you to enable/disable gears. Press the - button once and 10th is "locked out" - twice removes 9th, thrice removes 8th, etc. Pressing + will re-enable them. 7th is the one-to-one gear; 8,9, and 10 are overdrive ratios
I think the term "bias" in this case is the rear-wheel vs front-wheel power emphasis, not the construction of the tire.
For RWD/4WD F-150, the power bias is rear, so new tires go on the rear.
Something with FWD will get new it's tires on the front.
Yeah - I decided not to put one in after all. It was a great improvement when I put one in my 1997 Grand Cherokee (inline 6), along with a bigger throttle body, header, custom exhaust, ECM tune, etc.
None of that stuff for the Powerboost. 3 years on, and it's still stock.
My '21 Lariat FX4 has been trouble-free. I had the issue where the OTA software updates got stuck - never created a problem for me - dealer fixed it.
After I sold my camping trailer, I thought I might want to sell the truck. That thought lasted all of 3 seconds.
