  1. DEALER Transmission Fluid Exchange Experience (For What I's Worth...)

Request for filter and fluid change at 35K here from two dealerships was eye-opening. Dealer One: $1000. They're known to be greedy scumbags and were more than happy to perform this service. Dealer Two: $700, but service agent questioned why I would perform it at this mileage and recommended...
  2. Deer ran into me. How much work to fix?

Was right on the money with a guesstimate of $5500. It's a happy ending. You'll have your baby back soon. Hopefully your insurance rate won't rise. Generally, this type of accident does not raise it.
  3. What is your largest RV towed with your PB?

That's a lot of payload. Your tongue at 5800# is around 800#-900#, so lots of headroom for passengers and stuff. It's also within the 20/100 rule where an 100-inch vehicle wheelbase is safe towing a 20-foot trailer. For every additional 4 inches of wheelbase, you can tow an extra 1 foot of...

    What's the truck's payload rating.
  5. First transmission drain and fill.

35K here. Do some travel trailer towing. Cost about $175 at dealership. Shifts felt smoother.

Therefore, the deer sideswiped the length and into the light, not the bed shoving into the light. Knowing the how is great but not much help in the cost of repair.
  7. Deer ran into me. How much work to fix?

Yeah, sucks. Shouldn't affect your insurance rate but that's a NY perspective. Our deductible was $1000. Geico was great — no issues, no increase because we were parked. No expert, but it doesn't look like it can be pulled out. If so, a new taillight might not fit properly because the...
  8. Deer ran into me. How much work to fix?

Replace the bed side, and taillight. Had the same with a F250 that was damaged when some dipstick at Home Depot allowed one of those orange lumber carts to get loose and slam into the bed side. Huge dent. This is five years ago, but the replacement was $3500. Most likely more expensive now...
  9. Two-panel moonroof noise

Perform the suggested yearly routine maintenance. The Ford instructions are online. It requires a specific Krytox lubricant available on Amazon. Easy DIY. About a 30 minute procedure.
  10. Can trailer lights always on be removed?

That's fine, and that's what I did. Instead of letting help he didn't want just pass, he bit. There's a difference. My dad told me "angry little pricks" will be that way forever and to push back on bullies. In life and in a forum.
  11. Can trailer lights always on be removed?

Some members get emails with post subjects only and not the forum location and it's not obvious when in the forum. Talking into a dead mike, Buyer2021. He's just a garden variety, angry little prick.
