Sounds like a failing/loose cv joint to me.
(Edit: To wit, I'm not a mechanic)
Well, my truck arrived on 11/11 but I made the tough decision that it had slipped out of a comfortable financial situation for me to buy. I'm quite conservative with my finances and it just didn't pass the "smell test" for me to spend so much on a (very nice) truck anymore with current and...
Ditto with my dealership experience. They told me ~6-10mo. as an approximate time frame when I ordered and here I am at month 9 and the truck was just built. They also didn't take a deposit so I'm not really out anything. I could refuse delivery of the truck or just ghost them and they'd be...
Woohoo! My truck is now "built" (2/9 order, 10/16 blend, 10/24 built) and waiting on the local convoy to the dealer. It's only a ~20min drive between DTP and my dealer so fingers crossed it doesn't take too long.
Looks really awesome. I have a few questions:
1. Does the unit rattle around inside the dash?
2. How do you route any cables from the unit? Do you have to drill any holes? Could you post a picture from your truck?
Not without quite a bit of modification involving tearing into the truck's high voltage system, unfortunately. Probably not worth the hassle/risks. I so wish the PowerBoost were a PHEV.
BLM land is great, by the way. Take it easy out there, my friend!
To elaborate on @mnstang's comment, the engine simply charges the hybrid battery (via an alternator or using the electric motor as a generator, not sure which) which then feeds an inverter (DC->AC) that makes the correct line frequency and voltage for the outlets. Because of this disconnection...
This is my take on it. I don't think it's prudent to "justify" the PB over the 3.5EB based on a ROI from integrated fuel savings in most cases. The PB is essentially the 3.5EB plus a conventional hybrid. If you're doing a lot of highway miles it's just extra weight and it's not a plug-in either...
My 2022 Lariat MSRP has increased 3.5% since I ordered it in February. The 2023 equivalent is +6.7% without the Tow Technology package (RIP) and just the 360 camera package. Adding the Trailer Tow Package on top would bring it up +8.5%.
Honestly, the fact that the same truck is ~3k more now is what's keeping me sane! I do have A/Z plan pricing but that's only good until mid-Feb 2023. If I don't get a 2022, I might have to bail and buy something off a dealer lot (if there is anything on the lot) just to use the PIN.
Hope your...
I got the email last night that my order is scheduled for production week of 9/12. I hope it holds!
