I found using silicone spray made a big improvement to getting cables through .
Starting with a metal coat hangar pushing through both skins , then attaching the cables , apply more silicone spray and pull through . Be very careful of existing looms .
Worked for me
Yes . To my understanding it’s a trigger wire that allows the DC DC to only work when the signal from the blue wire is active . Stops the auxiliary system from draining the cranking battery as the circuit gets closed within the DC DC when the ignition is off .
I have no idea on that . There’s thousands of vehicles (all brands ) set up like this in Australia and I havnt heard any press on this being an issue . Alternator is charging the cranking battery which then distributes power to the DC DC which charges up to 40A in my case to the auxiliary . I’m...

Yes the solar had its limits . DC-DC is great insurance if it gets cloudy .
ive attached a pic of my fuse box . Can’t recall the number and circuit but it’s working fine . The ideal tap in would be a circuit that’s only in when vehicle is running but I struggled to find one .
If I recall this...
That was an amazing trip to follow . You are blessed with stunning locations in the US and Canada . Quite different to a big trip here in Australia . Very inspirational .
In regard to offgrid power I have a 200ah system that has a fixed 250w panel and I also carry a 300w blanket so I can follow...
Thanks Chris . That sounds like more good info . The forum has been a great source of knowledge . I’ve just clocked 50,000kms . I don’t think the smell is as bad as in the beginning .
The advice on improving the cold air intake sounds like good advice even if not related to this smell . As I’ve...
The thread seems to imply that it only relates to the 2024 .
I’m thinking a permanent fix would be a raised air intake (snorkel as we call them ) and back that up with an upgraded cold air intake , albeit an expensive alternative .
It can’t hurt to cut out that section though
Thankyou very much. This also ties in the need for the Cobb bracket to reduce defection . Cutting out the section might be a better way for me as the shipping for the Cobb is 10x the cost of the bracket !
Hi all . Thought I would show what I’ve done to my 2023 XLT 3.5 EB .
I purchases a LWB through Ford Australia who are now bringing in vehicles and converting to RHD over here . I always intended to modify for desert touring and camping while towing either motorbike trailer or boats . Upgrades...
