There is a connection on the hinge side of the console that you can disconnect. If the warnings go away the problem is with the switch in the workstation. If so you could just leave it disconnected. Of course, defeating a safety is never advised.
Thanks for the info. I’m nervous about dropping the headliner, but I may just try that. I know it sounds stupid, but it really does bug me how hot the top of my head gets driving on sunny days. It’s pretty much my only complaint with this truck.
I was wondering about the insulation as well. I had the tinting done at the same place for both trucks, with supposedly the same Llumar tint, so that shouldn’t be a factor.

I also installed the OEM damper, and like you I’m a little disappointed. It works great for the first 3/4 or so of the tailgate travel, but then it just sort of lets go and the tailgate hits bottom with a thump. I find myself catching the tailgate and slowing down that last bit. Still better...
I agree with the author that hybrids are a good choice, but probably not the hybrid F-150. Consumer Reports gave it some of the lowest scores I’ve ever seen for a full size truck.
This happened to me on my previous truck (2013). As soon as I installed the drop shackles I noticed a little vibration on takeoff and around 45 mph. The pinion seal started leaking after just a couple thousand miles. When I replaced the seal and put the stock shackles back on the vibration...
