I've tried all the snow plow modes and anything else that seemed like it would help. No dice. Goes in tomorrow for a leaking axle seal so well see what they say about the aid dam code.
I have a 21 Lariat Powerstroke and have also been having this same decision and same plans/ overall use. I have settled on going with the Eibach kit. Planning to do this some time this summer and then go with some 34/35s. What gears do you have? 3.55?
I did exactly this method when putting the tremor skid plate on my 2021 PowerStroke Diesel Lariat. First fully removed everything and after a few drives got an illuminated DTC with the loss of communication code.
drilled the rivets and taped and zip tied the modules, cleared the DTCs and drove...
Spoke too soon. Now with the actuators reconnected the original DTCS for loss of communication are gone. After a few ignition cycles another DTCs keeps returning and illuminating the CEL.
Anyone have experience with this code as it relates to the active air dam?
C0604- SSM 51718 2021-2023...
that's a healthy list! I also had the NOX sensor one i had them do while it was there. But you are right, i didn't get any sort of letter in the mail or notification beyond seeing it in the app.
I checked everywhere i could think in forscan for the bit to disable the air dam. DId not find it. My truck had all the modules updated manually at the dealership last week when it was in for recalls and some service
Last night i removed the rivets and took out the actuators from the air dam...
Makes me wonder if some of the modules are leftovers from the previous gen truck because of the diesel engine. Previous gen didnt have the active air dam im aware of so just isn't there. Thinking my best bet is to break apart the actuators and reconnect and zip tie them. Sucks, but seems like it...
Had this done last week on my 2021 PS Lariat and the engine idles much smoother and feels like it has better low down torque. I think my injectors values were a good bit off from new.
I also saw the snow plow mode in two places and thought about messing with it but didn't know what all it enables or disables. Didn't want to blow up the truck.
But yeah seems like the only real option is to drill the rivets on the actuators and reconnect them and zip tie up in the bumper...
I also have a 2021 Lariat Powerstroke diesel. I installed the skid plate this weekend and capped the plugs. I got a lit up CEL and the PCM code for communication with the air dam.
I dont have the listed bit entry in my pcm module via forscan either to try to disable...
Truck was in last week...
