I would use industrial strength velcro available at Lowe's. I mounted a heavy battery charger to my boat's transom with it years ago and it's still holding.
That's awesome if you have an F-150 to trade that's only a few years old, paid off, has extremely low miles and is still worth a pile of cash. I did that a few years ago when I traded my paid off '18 plus $8k for my new '21. I know it was a bit of a fluke during COVID though.
IMO Android Auto and Google Maps are way better anyway. I let my 3-year trial "CONNECTED BUILT-IN NAVIGATION" expire in April on my 2021 job 1 truck because I've never used it. Basic navigation still works as before though. Google maps update all the time so worrying about map updates is a moot...

My truck received its very first OTA update this morning (Power-Up 2.1.0) successfully so that's a very good sign that they're working now. Really appreciate your assistance!!
