As I’ve said on this website before, Ford could make a crummy truck and I would still buy it as long as it has the entry keypad. It is the Number 1 Ford feature. (Aside from reliability, nice appearance and great design). I’ve owned a couple GM vehicles with Star??? ( or whatever they call it)...
By “the old guy”, are you referring to the new swing out tailgate? I have it on my 24! It took me a long time to like it. I miss the pull out step. But, it is a habit to break. Once I forced myself to use it, it is admittedly handy to use.
Regarding the retrax, even in a carwash I don’t get...
I just have to say: my retrax was on my ‘21 for 3 years, now been on my 24 for 1. I absolutely love the thing. The “box” does take up some bed space but it hasn’t been nearly the loss I thought it would. You can utilize the space underneath it more than you would expect. Incidentally, making...
I haven't carried a car key in 10 years. It stays in the truck and car. Unlock with the keypad, lock by pushing the two bottom buttons simultaneously. Never have to look for a key, keep up with a key, store and find a key while traveling by air for 2 weeks. My pockets have too much in them...
I tell my friends that Ford would have to make pretty crap vehicles before I would buy something else that didn't have the entry keypad. Those of you that don't like the keypad, or don't use them, are what are called "ludites". If Ford drops the keypad, it will free me to buy another brand...
I've long told my friends that I would buy a Ford even if it were a poor second just for the door keypad. Now, it appears they are phasing it out. I think Ford is making a huge, huge mistake! This is a unique feature and far better than a subscription-required Starllink.
Those CPI numbers...
I have heard these complaints as well as Consumer Reports comments on Powerboost reliability. I traded my 21 PB with 67,000 miles for a 24 PB, which now has 13,000 miles. Neither truck has been to the dealer for ANYTHING except a windshield wiper recall in '21, and they were working perfectly...
It would be nice to have an engineer response. I'm not one. But, I believe it is the case that an engine, given a given load, may run more efficiently at a slightly higher rpm than at a lower rpm. It depends on the load. The sweet spot for optimum rpm depends on the engine. This would depend...
In the expedition 4X4, you don't get a choice - its the 3.73. I think Ford's engineers know what's best. With a 10 speed transmission and built-in overdrive, there is little need for low numerical ratio's.
I have told my friends for several years that Ford trucks would have to be pure junk before I gave up on them due to the keypad. I want the keypad. Fords decision to remove them as a factory option is one of the most stupid idiotic decisions I’ve ever know a major company to make.
