I saw a post saying the new trucks don't have the appropriate hardware for it anymore so it won't be possible. Not sure if that is 100% confirmed or not.

I don't have the HUD on my F-150 but I have a tinted windshield on a different car and overall it still works fine but the text is noticeably less sharp but still perfectly adequate, the tint is Johnson Films insulatir 70%.

I agree to an extent, I want to be able to at least go somewhere and test drive the vehicle but these days just about every other part of the car buying process sucks (with some dealers being exceptions). I couldn't tell you the last time I bought a car where the salesman knew as much as I did...

Are the BCM updates still locked out for us peons and if so is there a work around? Was thinking of firing up FDRS this evening/tomorrow to run through updates and I have one pending.

Maybe it's just my truck but I swear the update from the HVAC TSB for the condenser freezing changed the fan speeds, before fan speed 1 for me was great once the cabin reached my desired temp, now it feels like the old 3 and it seem variable, sometimes it feels like the old fan speed, other...

I primarily drive in what I consider a worst case scenario area for fuel efficiency, the roads are almost all 55 mph with traffic lights so it's basically full time accelerating and braking and I average 20.4 mpg. Some trips I am around 15, others I am 22-23. If I go on long highway trips...

That was my gut based on what I have seen here so I threw it on the charger last night and it looks like it installed a different update than what the update screen said in the truck, I got ECG-24.2.4.10.

Thanks for the info, are you able to see why the BCM OTA is seemingly failing for me? I keep getting notifications it's going to install and then doesn't and I get re-prompted a few days later. 1FTFW1ED5PFA51155 If I remember correctly the update is BCM 24.6.R

FWIW, I think this is still the same keypad and not the battery stick on as suggested. In the order guide it is specifically called out as "SecuriCode Wired Keypad" or is the battery one labeled the same?

I did the update in late May and the issue is still occurring for me but less frequently. It seems to mostly happen if I drive the truck for a little bit, get out for a quick stop of 5-10 minutes and a few minutes after I get back in it will freeze up and I have to blast the heat for 60 seconds...

Personally, I don't really care if they are amber or red, I can't see them blinking behind me while I drive.
