That really sucks. Do you know if the recall has worked it’s way through the Canadian system yet? The repair procedures that have been posted on this thread previously were for the US and had been through the NHTSA recall process (US feds). IIRC your dealer previously said the repair...
Really glad your got yours sorted out too. I've climbed under mine a couple of times and can only locate one of the insulators (driver's side).
I absolutely love the truck though. The lane keeping system is a trip, it actually steers the truck thru turns on the expressway if I take my hands...
If you use the link in post #50 to the NHTSA site, it has the repair instructions. Canadian process for recalls is I’m sure different but most likely the actual repair instructions for dealers is going to be the same as Stateside.
Thanks! I only have driven it for about an hour but really like it already. Coming from a Fusion for the past 6 years it feels huge. Kids both are in love with it.
I just crawled under to try and photograph the insulators and the rivets but the lighting sucked and my driveway is very...
They sorted it out and I picked it up this afternoon. The confusion on the repair was that one figure showed the two insulators from the top, another figure was from the bottom and the service department wanted to be 100% sure they were drilling the holes on the proper sides.
Dealer was able...
Yes - dealer called and gave me an update first thing this morning. They now have all the parts in to fix my truck and one other one that got held up by the recall. They were missing the anti-corrosion coating that gets applied to the rivets but got that yesterday. It was not readily...
It took 6 days for most of the parts to come in (parts were ordered 12/21 and arrived 12/27) but the Christmas holiday was in the middle.
Dealer was still missing one part needed to complete the repair as of 2pm yesterday. We’re in southeast Michigan a stones throw from the Dearborn plant, so...
Repair parts are in, dealer is hoping to have it completed tomorrow. Mine only needs the insulators secured though - it’s brand new so no issue with the drive shaft.
We don’t have it yet. We were informed Tuesday (12/21) that the truck was subject to a recall and that the parts were ordered. Update on Thursday afternoon (12/23) was that the parts were not yet in. They ordered the repair parts for several trucks in one PO but are preparing for a large...
Read that the recall covers 180,000+ trucks at this point, so a lot of vehicles. Around 27 documented driveshaft failures attributed to damage from sagging insulators too.
Still waiting on repair parts for the one we are buying, a little bummed as it was supposed to be my Xmas present to...
We are in the process of buying a '21 F150 XLT and the sale is currently held up by this recall. We were supposed to take delivery of the vehicle yesterday, but cannot until the repair is completed.
I've been talking to the salesman/inventory manager at our dealer, not the service department...
