  1. Done

I just paid 4.89 for diesel so not too bad here (yeah about 0.90 more than regular). But I'm already averaging 25 MPG compared to the 19 MPG I got in the PowerBoost. Certainly, some trade-offs, but at this point, I find the RAM "fun" and the Ford was "just a truck"... certainly boils down to...
  2. Done

First, this forum has been a valuable source of info and experiences! I wish everyone having trouble with their F-150 PB luck with getting them taken care of. I got my PB at the end of last August. At first, it was great. By November the first weird thing happened. Overall, of all the 1st...
  3. Pump Whine While on and in Park

Mine is not nearly that loud, but it does make that noise. I think (just my guess) it is the electric motor spinning, I can sometimes feel a little shake or shimmy (which also is disturbing but only does it once in a blue moon).
  4. 2021 hybrid transmission problems?

Yeah... my transmission is leaking and missing shifts between 4-5, 8,9,10. I have a post on it... could take 30 days or more (not including the 8 days they have already had it) to be looked at by the one and only transmission tech to decide if they are going to rebuild it or replace it. In any...
  5. Oily fluid drip

So my truck has been sitting at the dealer since Tuesday. Finally, I was able to get the word back today that the fluid leak is coming from the transmission selector (I'm not really sure what that means). They do not know if that is the root cause. They are replacing the gasket there first. If...
  6. Oily fluid drip

Well as I thought, the soonest available scheduled time was one month out! The Ford tried to help... Ford even offered to check a couple of other dealers for a better schedule and it came back that the original dealer had the earliest slot available. The dealer literally said the Ford case...
  7. Tools/gadgets for the powerboost

I put in a Decked storage system. I keep an extension cord mainly (not pictured). Also, keep trailer towing things and recovery gear. I don't keep tools there for long (unless they fit in a drawer) for the likelihood of them getting stolen!
  8. Oily fluid drip

So far it seems it will drip once or twice after the engine is shut off. I have a pan under it now. I wonder though while running down the road how much might be leaking. Shifting has started to get clunky... between some gears engine revs and the thunks into gear...
  9. Strange noise during cold start on Powerboost

Thanks! I started a new thread... it is off on the drivers side: https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/oily-fluid-drip.10473/
  10. Oily fluid drip

My Powerboost is starting to have an oily drip. The drip is coming down some tubing, driver's side about 12 inches back from the door hinge. Kinda red in color... could this be transmission fluid (having the startup noise)? Photos are taken from driver-side door area. I'll be taking it in...
  11. Strange noise during cold start on Powerboost

Huh... Bronco with manual transmission... startup noise: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/2-3-manual-engine-trans-noise.33282/post-1144212
  12. Strange noise during cold start on Powerboost

I now see a new oily drip coming from about 12 inches behind the front edge of the door dead center of the truck... I haven't been able to locate the source so far. This adds to the cold start noise and three recalls... 6600 miles. ???
  13. Strange noise during cold start on Powerboost

    Level parking for me.
  14. Strange noise during cold start on Powerboost

I expect I probably will need to drive it to complete failure is my guess... The temps needed to reproduce this won't happen until February. Add to that, the closest dealership will be about 20 degrees warmer as they are 4000 ft lower in altitude. I have some towing and hauling coming up soon...
  15. Powerboost long term storage

Depending on how long "long term" might be and if it is stored in a ventilated or outdoor area, you could schedule remote starts once a month... I'd imagine with a full tank that could go on for a long time.
