The tailgate is aluminum so the prep work isn't too bad.Your local auto paint store can put the paint , primer and hardened clear coat into spray cans to make it easier. Removing and taping off the letters takes time and patience.

I put mine over the tailgae plate. I don't use mine as a work truck though. Install the tie downs on the outside of the rug by putting the screws back in to easily use as a giuld to cut the holes with a razor knife since the cutouts are not very acurate. Cut the lights , switch and power panel...
