Sorry i usually try and update the post.
After waiting a month for a ford engineer to be assigned and never getting one, and the dealer refusing to work on the truck till ford got involved, I trailered my truck off their lot.
got it home and began troubleshooting to find the BCM power feed wire...
Hey guys. Back at it again, finally got the truck in my driveway again and holy crap is there a lot going on. I really don’t know where to start. I am waiting for a mongoose cable so I can begin using FDRS, but I’ve been using forscan to see what’s communicating and reading faults.

You’re 100% correct I think, but it’s no fault of his or the dealers from what I’m experiencing. Ford engineers and tech support are very slow to respond, like he said it’s a week for a response, a few days/week to book it into the schedule and finally work on it. Not fixed? Back to waiting for...
That’s rough man. I don’t really know how they think that’s an okay level of service. I don’t know what the answer is cause I’m sure they’re busy, but come on. A dude without his truck for 170 days should have the best engineers on that case 24/7.
it drives me nuts cause I’ve worked at heavy...
Repair it. I’ve been all over forums and such and I’ve probably explained it in this post too, but in case not the short story is BCM replacement required updates of all modules, and in doing so they bricked the IPC and they can’t get it to update or do a PMI now.
im getting frustrated with...
that’s what I thought, dealer seems to figure as built was the only way to replace the dead BCM. I don’t know enough to say other wise.
im waiting to hear back from ford engineers before I make my decision to tow my truck out of there and fix it myself.
So with FDRS are the non-dealer versions able to perform PMIs? I was just told they were not and I have no experience to say otherwise. Can anyone confirm?
If performing a PMI on an out of date system, and the module is dead and cannot pull config from original module is it true its required to...
awesome man. At this time I’m just going to let the tech do his thing and see where we get. Ford is involved at this point. You answered lots for me, so I appreciate it. I guess I’ll have to wait and see if the IPC or GWM is actually bricked or not. Wish I had warranty ?
Are you talking about the usual loss of com faults that show up after programming and we usually just clear? Or actual fault codes that need trouble shooting?
I get once you start going down the “update” rabbit hole this can be likely, but did the tech really need to do all that just to replace...
