The instructions actually say to close the tailgate first…and then pop or snap the cover. I have a ‘22, short bed and my cover bounces back up at me, unless I snap it in place with the tailgate open. I’d rather the rubber trim lay flat on top of the closed tailgate, as it does seem like this is...

FYI - I installed the bedrug under the work surface…looks great/clean. The ends fold up a bit, but I may be able to tape them down if they bug me. I do wish I had put more tape on the rug near the fenders….it does bubble here a bit, but I don’t really want to redo this part…just wish they had...

Bump…I’m doing mine now, and I’m going to install it under the work surface…I’m thinking you mean cut holes big enough to let the screws in easily for the Work surface…but I was wondering if I need to cut a much larger hole, OR is the rug thin enough to allow you to put it back on top as it was...
