I spoke with an engineer there, he said the 2R is better for road drives, the 3R is more for the offroader.
This (by design) is true indeed. However, Eibach does claim that they have designed these kits to mirror their 2R kits very well. Now we arent saying they are the exact same at all. Like you stated 3R kits are for sure designed to be a higher performing shock (just like any other shock that is a 2.5 shock body) But they did state they will be very similar still to where the average daily driver will still love this set up. So that is at least a good sign!

@Hotshot Offroad same amount of front lift as the 2R?
Correct. The shock lengths are virtually the same providing the same amount of lift for each trim as stated in their 2R kits; its just the shock body itself that is larger.

They do look very slick. There’s something about that nice dark slate gray on a shock that just screams awesome

I'm most interested in if the kit gets a specific spring for the Powerboost, as my truck is a heavy girl.

The OEM struts, under normal road conditions, is good for about 100K miles you think?

I'd probably wait until NEXT Black Friday honestly to make this upgrade to complete wearing out the OEM stuff a bit more.

But what if we REALLY want to pretend to be off-roaders and occasionally catch a curb at a drive-through?

But really, the 3R has a more capable shock for offroad adventures and the UCA's to allow for more articulation? Are these the primary differences?

Thanks.

Exactly, it's about buying the best product available when cost difference is not substantial. I would venture to say that 75% or more 3R consumers are not going to push them to the expanded off road limits it provides over the 2R.

Like my wife in her brand new Atlas SEL Premium R Line...$685 wheel meets curb :(
