You'll have to splice into the ground and the illumination wires of the door lock connector and then run 2 wires down to the DDM for the telescope function to work. I have memory working on mine, works on mirrors and seats (requires the appropriate seats or harness and motors on the XLT seat -- not an effective route to take due to motor cost and complete tear down of every aspect of the seat sans 4 bolts).

As for mirror dimming, don't believe it's present on tow mirrors and is normally powered by a lariat+ review mirror FWIW which requires 2 wires to be run all the way up to the rearview mirror from the inside door harness.

Okay so yesterday I installed power fold tow mirrors to my 24' XLT 302A. I was able to get a pair of 24' Platinum door harnesses from my dealerships body shop for $150. After installing them I realized they didn't have the telescoping connector. What I thought was the telescoping connector was actually the ambient door lighting connector. It's really not the end of the world at this time because what I really wanted was the power fold feature. Looking into it a little further I could always utilize the old harness wire pins and make my own. It looks like I would only have to do the wiring from the module to the telescoping button. As the connector to the mirrors is full of wires/pins. I'm only really upset about it because I really don't want to take the door apart again and risk breaking anything.... But $150 for basically brand new harnesses.... I'll get over it

Fortunately I was able to get a hold of some Tow Mirrors off a 2025 Platinum. I will start off by saying that they had a different camera in them. Not only did they work, but they improved my overhead 360 view. The stitching is much better. Some of you may know I already have manual fold tow mirrors on my truck. I installed my cameras off the standard mirrors, and have had overhead 360 view /stitching issues ever since. The cameras that originally came in my standard mirrors end in BB. These cameras off the 25' platinum end in BC.

Everything was plug and play and relatively easy. On the driver side you will either need to modify the connector for the lock / unlock button or what I have done is ordered the lock / unlock button with memory buttons and the matching bezel. The passenger door is much easier to do and has less wires obviously than the driver's door. There's one connector on the driver's door that will take smaller hands to get to, but it can be done. Just make sure your windows are up.

I went in forscan and made the changes. At first it didn't take. Then for the hell of it I went in my APIM and changed Auto fold and power fold to "enabled" they were both disabled. I haven't made any forscan changes for auto fold. I went back and entered the new values for power fold and now they work.

One of the reasons I was pushed to install the complete harness was because the 25' Platinum Tow Mirrors have the auto dimming feature on the driver side. I have tinted windows and I was driving around last night and it looks like it is working.

Here is the value changes for the 24's for power fold. Dealership can also do all the programming. They are used to it because of the Ford accessory tow mirror kit...fyi

I attached all the pictures and screenshots from the parts used. I do have the telescoping switch and bezel. I'll save that for later.

Parts list:
1. Wire harnesses (without telescoping connector)
2. Lock/ unlock with memory buttons
3. Bezel for lock/ unlock memory switch
4. Window / mirror controls switch with power fold button
5. Telescoping button
6. Bezel for telescoping button.

Yup. Taken out of a totaled truck with 5,000 miles and sold for parts. The pictures I provided were originally to help somebody else. Those are off the shelf at my local dealership parts department. The harnesses I have fit the Lariats and above power fold without telescoping. I did have to buy some connectors and other little parts to make a professional installation.

what I find crazy is that even in a platinum they've deleted the telescope harness!?! It's factory or nothing, or custom harness.

Correct so my understanding is from 21' to 23' if you had a Lariat and above with power fold that telescoping connector was attached to the bezel. Now it is not. I added tow mirrors to my 23' Lariat and the telescoping connector was waiting for me attached to the bezel underneath. When I bought these we all thought it had the telescoping connector, but it was the ambient lighting connector as I previously said... Ugh.

And to make matters worse if you go in the Ford service manual wiring diagram using my VIN a XLT 302a it shows me having the power fold wiring !?!?!?!? It's only partially true. You can add the power fold button without adding wiring, but the wiring isn't at the mirrors as we all know.

I just wanted to add and they still sell the Ford accessories kit with the telescoping switch in bezel. Now that's only pretty much replacement mirrors for trucks that already have tow mirrors. Unless you want to go through all this.

Yeah, that's how those things go. The window controls button panel talks to the DDM via lin bus so nothing needed on that front, does need the 2 motor wires going to the mirror connector from the DDM and PDM to make it move though. PDM talks to DDM via can bus.

Since I have ordered the memory switch instead of replacing the connector. I was wondering if I could have memory mirrors.

So the 4 wires going to the telescoping switch don't come from the door module?

Yes, you will have memory mirrors now that you have the mirror to DDM/PDM connections. If in the future you add heated/cooled seats from a lariat+ truck, you will have memory driver seat as well.

It's 4 wires, one Ys into 2 positions. 2 run to the DDM, while the other 2 are splices. I have a clever method of not splicing as an alternative that doesn't require a bunch of connectors / jumper wires.

Im still working on the telescoping part. I was able pull them out manually and was able telescope in from the switch but that's it. Couldn't get them telescope out.

it requires forscan changes to get it fully working. I have no idea what you've done or not on your installation.

Everything from wiring to make changes in forscan and nothing. Waiting on a new telescoping switch to rule out the one i have is damage or not

Hi. Would you have a photo of the pin configuration of that plug? If not then...how many pins is it?

Thanks.
Unfortunately I do not and I'd have to pull my driver's side door apart again to the the pin count.

I do want to confirm that the auto dimming is working on the driver mirror. My mirrors are off a Platinum pickup truck. My truck is a 302A with auto dimming rearview mirror. Furthermore I learned that when you put the truck in reverse it automatically turns off. It does take a few seconds to adjust.

How? I have dim mirror on my towing mirrors but it's not working.

So from telescoping switch #1&4 to the door lock connector ground and #2 to illumination wire of the lock connector? For telescoping to work?
