6 weeks old, 650 miles. Drove 2 hours Sunday, vehicle completely dead when I started it for work Tuesday morning. No app notification for deep sleep mode.

It's been in dealer maintenance for a week, all diagnostics and TSBs done with no findings. Any ideas?

Hey there. I can look into your F150’s battery concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership info?

Thanks - may have to do that. I did verify we have the -800, which seems to recommended over the -760 on some other threads reporting similar issues. Maintenance says they've done several deep cycle tests and the battery passed all.

What a joke. Imagine selling a new vehicle, the vehicle is dead after barely a tank of gas has been run thru it……and then keeping it a week only to say: “welp, battery checks good!”

Weak, weak game Ford. Hope you get taken care of OP, and can enjoy your new truck.

Remember, Ford assembled many trucks and put them out to pasture awaiting computer chips. I infer that during this time their batteries either were installed in the trucks or sat on a shelf somewhere... They were then inactive. Batteries don't like that as funny things go on in a battery that is just sitting. As someone above said... Get a new battery, either from your dealer or another place like NAPA...
I had some funny stuff come up with mine and since I was travelling for Thanksgiving, I just pulled into a nearby NAPA store and got a new battery... Not a peep since.

Thanks for the reply - that certainly makes sense to me. So much so, that I suggested that solution to the dealer maintenance manager. The reply was that the battery "checked good". Given that they can't provide what did not "check good", we're more than a little frustrated by their refusal to show a small token of doing the right thing by just replacing the battery while they continue analyzing.

yeah not sure about the 23's as much but maybe it did sit for a while once it left the factory.
maybe something malfunctioned and drained it.

sadly with all the tech in these new vehicles no telling.

but i'm with you. battery died but its testing ok. tough call by the shop to replace it "if" it checks out ok.

OR, as others have pointed out, and trust me, i say this with my teeth clinched and pissed just thinking about it, go buy a nice ass battery from an autoparts store. buy it online for pickup b/c usually you can get 10-15% off discount codes and go pick it up and be done and enjoy your truck.

Add me to the list of owners who decided that the $225 for a high quality aftermarket battery was a better choice than back and forth with Ford and trips to the dealer. Fixed my battery issues once and for all. Not a single glitch since.

I did not exchange the battery I replaced (I split for the core charge). I took it back to the dealer (with whom I have a good relationship) and had them check it out. It checked good. What is important to understand is there is a low load vs medium or higher load effect. Specfically, at low loading the battery seems fine, yet at higher loads it can fail. Why? That's because what is going on inside a battery just sitting around, is impurities plate out on the active materials. This effectively reduces the capacity of the battery at medium to higher loads. But the chemistry of the battery means if there's not much load on it the battery will seem just fine. Go get a new battery and thank Ford for their interest in National Defense...
